The sun came up today, I think. Did get some things done yesterday. Thank you for your words of encouragement and sympathy. Tommy you're right, I am at peace and so is Bruce after a couple really horrible years.

Today I'm headed to the 'city' to get some paint matched for the next cabinet job. The parts are ordered, the color picked and I want to be ready when things start arriving.

Been working nights since I got back from California. It was tough getting up this morning for a dentist apt.

I got the bathroom almost done. Floor is in new toilet is in. Just have to put trim in later this week.

It's raining here today temps should be in the mid 70's.

No plan for the day yet. The plan will unravel all on it's own. Tomorrow, dental cleaning and after stay with the crew as they finish up a job. Sue hopefully closes on the property tomorrow afternoon. Friday Sue has already put in her request for helping her at the nursery. We'll see how that unfolds. This much I know. I'm never bored.

Kids are in school and wife is out with her mother. Tinkering around the house and cleaning up a bit. Need to cut the lawn but we had torrential rains last night...second day in a row. Not sure if it's dry enough yet.

New privacy fence has been held up. City denied the permit. Although we currently have a full privacy fence, they changed the law and now it has to be spaced or shadow box for potential water drainage along the easement. Wow. I told th fence company, waiting for the new quote.

prayers for your family on your loss Tom. Knowing a loved one is no longer suffering helps bring a measure of peace.
Rain was due today but somehow missed us. Sun is on schedule from now on but temps are due to drop at least 10 degrees. I want summer to be here forever but everyone in my area is already hollering for winter. I'll remind them of that when they gripe about how cold it is. I hope everyone enjoyed the eclipse.

Didn't get a lot done today. Trip to the 'city' yielded supplies and things needed for the upcoming cabinet job, now I need cabinet materials...hopefully Friday.

The funeral is set for Saturday afternoon, we'll probably go up Friday night for visitation. I'm expecting a HUGE crowd. I may be wrong, but I think they may be taking him to the final resting place on a firetruck. Even after retiring (disability) 17 years ago, he still had close association with the department. Friday right before we got there apparently there were 5 firetrucks (and firefighter crews) out there from three different communities, all of which have chiefs who were trained by my brother, there visiting him. The new chief in Hutchinson even came out to meet him as he had heard so much about him. Quite a tribute.
