Looks like I have a couple of days to get everything in order. Mainly pick up stuff that can fly and button up the house. Have to get some diesel fuel for the generator today. Looks like we'll get a piece of Irma one way or another. Hopefully not the whole pie. My thoughts before going to sleep last night. "I really don't want to go through another hurricane." Especially a cat 4 or 5. Truth is there is nothing you can do but prepare.

Howdy! As predicted, the alarm clock was a most unwelcome sound - I could go for a nap already. It's sunny now, but will struggle to make it into the mid-60's. And they're talking rain and wind just about in time for golf tonight. Ducky.

Hope all the prep will wind up being unnecessary, Tommy. But you never know - Mother Nature can be a bitch.

Have a good day, all.

Morning guys....Mojo for you guys, Tommy. that is the difference between hurricanes and tornadoes, you have time to prepare.

Cool here this morning and supposed to stay cool for the day, highs in the low 70s. But no rain.

About a month ago our preacher asked me if I had a hand gun, and I told him I did. And he says he wants to buy one. I told him I'd take him out to shoot. Well, that didn't happen and this weekend he tells me he bought a 22 and wants to go shoot. So, my neighbor and I are going to take him out this morning to shoot. Should be a fun outing.

That's the problem with long weekends Brad, it hard to get back in the swing of things.

You guys have a great day

Good Morning CGs!

Time to get the kids up and ready for school. I have some chores planned for the day, too.

TB, a day with friends shooting sounds nice to me.

Tommy, good luck with the storm prep.

Hope everyone has a great day!

LOOKS LIKE A NICE DAY COMING UP, 80 FOR THE HIGH THEY SAY. NOTHING BUT A COUPLE OF ERRANDS TO RUN ON TODAY'S AGENDA.

TOMMY I HOPE IRMA STANDS YOU UP AND LEAVES YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT USELESS PREPARATIONS :-)

I NEED TO CRANK UP THE POLE SAW AND TAKE DOWN SOME LOW HANGING TREE LIMBS, BUT I THINK I'LL WAIT AS IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE COOLER LATER IN THE WEEK.

....I don't know but it may be a sign of the apocalypse when the preachers start buying guns.......

Waiting for the white rock truck to come rolling in for new rock on the parking lot area...... big work next couple of days then by Thursday we should be mostly done and starting to get ready for all the expected 250 folks to arrive on Saturday...... even Tommy would have to rent chairs for that many.... but not many.....

Ok got to go now.......Guru mojo welcomed........

I never complain anymore. I'm always grateful if they divert. I would be bitching about a major clean up, new roof, doors and windows though. I'm insured with Tommy T-Bone self insurance company. So far I've saved 50+ thousand in premiums. That would go a long way towards repairs though.

....as long as you didn't spend that 50K on wine, your wife and song...... like I would have......

The thing about tornadoes is they hit hard fast and then in 30 seconds are gone.....a hurricane can last for days.....my vote is against either of them.....

got a bunch of little stuff done and have the big sprinklers going out back....having some coffee and a Danish.......to build energy for the next go round.....

We had a good time shooting. Father Rene had a good time shooting his new Walther 22. Had a hard time getting him to shoot my 9 or 45. He did shoot a 380 "Too Strong" (in his Filipino English). "I need to buy some more bullets. When can we go out again?" Were his last comments, before dropping him off.

Irma is a bitch.... but has a long way to go and lots of stuff to run over before getting to Florida.... feel sorry for those in its path...... 185 sustained winds with gusts up over 200...... I cannot imagine that....

Getting a little worried here as well. Ohio gets its' tornadoes, but nothing like the stuff you guys in Florida and the gulf states get.
Be safe.

Me neither. I find myself bitching about a lot of things then I see people who endure things like this and I realize that I do not think I could. I do think at least with a hurricane, you have time to gather the things that are dear to you and attempt to put them in a safe place or mail photos to loved ones, or something. Here, tornado, very short warning and everything you ever worked for is gone, home, car, material things. Then there's the irreplaceable stuff such as family photos, heirloom jewelry, furniture, and of course, kids, parents, spouses, etc. I simply cannot imagine it and hope I never have to.
Prayers Tommy that you don't have to either..

Yes, Gris, I believe it was a P-22....and yes it was very nice to shoot. I thought the trigger was a bit heavy though. I could get used to it....he sure did. For someone who had NEVER fired a gun before, he caught on real quick.
