Well, it appears that global warming has succeeded and winter has come for real. Thank goodness that the weather gurus were not quite on track with their predictions a week ago. Talk of blizzards and below zero temps are no longer in our forecast, but cold (slightly below "normal"), wind a some flurries still persist, but nothing like they were talking 5 days ago. upper 30s for highs the next couple of days, then low 40's for a few days. Should be good travel weather for us Christmas morning.

Not much on the agenda today....return some doors I repaired, maybe work on my laptop computer that I use when we travel...installing an SSD Tomorrow we (myself and the grandsons) will help Grandma Rosie at the health department hand out the Christmas baskets for those families in need. It's pretty much an all day affair.

I hope that everyone here has a great Thursday.

Looking to break the record high for this date in SoFlo. Looking for mid 80's lows in the low 70's. It's nice out now. 2:00 PM I'm thinking not so nice. Another day of working on the house and yard getting ready for the Christmas Day onslaught. Fortunately it's like a pot luck. We make a full meal with some desserts and the party goers will bring an assortment of specialties from homemade cornbread, cooked meats and dishes to inviting desserts. Never a food shortage and many will take a plate home. We'll cook hams, a brisket, sweet potatoes, green beans and cheese cake. Soda's and water will be in the coolers. Wine on the counter and beverages of choice will be brought by those that wish to partake. Seating for 50 on the outside deck and patio and some will prefer to sit inside, especially if it's in the 80's.

For the first several years I cooked whole pigs over hot coals. Decided it was way too much work and questionable if they would be done on time. Now we switched to smoked hams. Easy peasy.

Sounds like a good time, Tommy. A lot of work for you, but a good time for all.

Hidey-ho! Busy again today, REALLY looking forward to having next week off. A few days ago, the weather geniuses were predicting a huge snow storm for today, now we MIGHT get a trace. That part is fine by me. Not particularly pleased with the trend of the thermometer, though.

Bundle up, Gurus!

Crap I wanna go to Tommy's for Chrimmus...
My fam insists on the traditional of ham, turkey and same ol same ol.
At my house the bar is in the dining room next to the table. I'll pick up some wines this weekend some cheap but tasty stuff. There's bourbon and I'll grab a port if anyone wants one. BF usually has beer. The first one that gets snooty and whines about stuff can hit the door, it's my house. I'd prefer to have a good old barbecue dinner myself. Oh and the rain can stop any time. It brought some heavy fog with it this morning. That was some fun driving to work in ...
