Good Morning CGs!

After a few days all of the holiday madness caught up to me. Slept in the morning after Christmas until 10 am. I certainly think it helped.

Great set of pictures from yesterday. Tommy, I don't know if I've ever seen palm trees for Christmas...but I could get used to that. In the picture of the three pups...what type is the one in the middle? That's what the wife wants.

As far as Christmas...kids got a bunch of gifts as expected. Not as many as in years passed (we've done that on purpose) but still more than they need. They do seem to appreciate them (at least I hope so).

Hope everyone has a great day!

Almost forgot - Brad, what do you know about Mall of America? Wife has decided we are taking a road trip after the New Year and wants to stay up there for a couple of days. Thanks.

Morning guys...Well, #1 and SIL will be here Friday until Tuesday. He's got a project he wants help with, so we have something to do.

I'm working on some drawings for my friend/former colleague on his kitchen re-design. I'll talk to another client about his kitchen job today as well.

Still cold, 10 now but is supposed to warm up to low 30s. Might be the warmest day in the next week. They are saying Sunday, the high will only be 5.....not one of those days you want to be outside for sure.

Stay warm gurus.

Here in SoCal, it's a balmy 48F.... and that's kinda chilly.

I guess after 13+ years, I have become a "local" and have lost my winter blood.

Had a great Christmas, hope everyone else did, too!

Sorry I didn't get to decorating the Guru... I am fighting a security problem that is making it impossible for me to reach the site at work.

No problem Andy...... just happy to be here........ I would sure take that 48 right now....... -7 with a windchill of -200 I think.......maybe they said -20

Waiting to hear from the frozen tundra on how cold it is up there......

We have been to mall of America....... it's where I first had fish on a stick..... It is one big ass indoor shopping mall that goes on forever on two or three floors........ when we were there it had a full amusement park for the kids in the middle....... I think Calgary has the biggest mall in the world but this has to be a close 2nd.......... we went in the summer so I went to a Twins game while the family shopped.......... I am not much on shopping like the girls are............its a full on competition to them....... you will like it....... but we will wait to hear what Brad has to say...........

Stay warm amigo's..........

Greetings! I didn't do as professional a job of sleeping in as Matt - bravo to him! I will endeavor to persevere tomorrow. Meanwhile, we have to venture out this afternoon to go over to my MIL's. The venturing out part will suck since it is bitter cold, but the homemade cookies will not.

Matt, the Sprawl of America is huge. I haven't been there in several years, since I mainly use point-and-click nowadays. I used to know the layout pretty well, and could zip in and out of there on my way home from work. When the kids were little we used to take them to the amusement park there, and they always got a kick out of that. I recall that we were there the weekend it opened, with over 100,000 of our close personal friends - that was quite something. I don't know if there are any tool stores there, though ;-)

Have a good day, yawlz!

Yorkies are the best dogs ever...... we have two and the daughter has one also.......

The best thing is they don't shed........ that's huge in our book for an indoor dog......they are also very protective of there domain........so lots of barking when the UPS man comes to the door...... or anyone comes to the door.......

There are the small type Yorkies...... purse dog style and then there are a bigger set of them which weigh around 15 lbs....... we have the bigger ones........ pricy if you go to a pet store......best to look in the paper to see who has them for sale in your area. The first one we had was a rescue dog we found on the internet...... $25 bucks.....the second one we paid $400 for from some folks up in the next village. We see them in the pet shops for 800 to 1500 bucks....... that's nuts........

Well another Christmas is in the bag ..... or box ..... or storage bin. On the 26th I packed it all up and put it away. Next up, New Years and New Years Eve and of course New Years Eve Eve. For New years Eve we are thinking of going to the local gambling establishment that opened up 10 minutes away and we haven't been to yet. They have a Jai Alai fronton and card room but they have only just begun. Big gradual expansion plans are in the works for a bigger card room and slot room no doubt. We mainly save our gambling for the cruises but take occasional short outings to the local places. Gambling is a vice and it's best not to feed into it too often. We go for entertainment on a controlled budget. No dreams of making it big in the casinos. Vegas was built on those types of dreams that more often than not turn into nightmares. Have a good'n.

None of our Christmas is in the box or storage bin or attic like it needs to be. Also need to take down the stuff at the nursing home. Currently having issues with new admin over there regarding her window unit heater I just bought. Normally takes a 220. They told me (previous admin) to get her a 110 to not throw breakers. Funny to me how a small tabletop heater I took her (110) threw them and he's asking me to bring the same thing? I think they need to update their building. I told the lady this morning, fix what she needs to but cousin will use a heater thrown breakers or not until they can find another solution.
To add to the day, I went back by the house after for something I forgot and the garage door went up a foot and right back down. BF is meeting a guy for an online sale exchange tonight for us a new Craftsman 'smart' garage door opener -1HP and it's controllable from your phone. $130.

I agree......in fact they have a whole channel dedicated to it on XM called Prime Country......... 80's and 90's only......

Funny thing you mentioned that VB...... I just took a heater unit down to my Moms because their heat keeps going out a lot. But they are not allowed because of fire hazard. I took one of those infrared heat units down that does not get hot to the touch but still pumps out a radiant heat...... So the war is on between me and them to let the old folks keep the damn thing......

If they would keep the heat working we wouldn't have to worry about it.......am I right? damn right I am.........

Marcus, around here it's a state regulation they cannot have any type of individual heater. They can have the window ac/heat unit, however it has to be installed by their maintenance man. His stupid ass tossed the box as well as the paperwork except for the owner's manual. Now I have no card to fill in for registration of the unit. As far as I'm concerned at this point, if it breaks - or heck even now - the can pay me what I paid for it. I'm bout to be fed up. I walked in last year to find her sitting there shaking and shivering ice freaking cold. Pissed me off
