I woke up 5 minutes before the alarm at the end of a freaking weird dream....don't really remember what it was all about, but it went on forever.

Supposed to be a nice day today, mid 70s and light winds early picking up to stronger winds in the afternoon. I'll try to get the east side of my awning decked off this morning. Another friend (my plumber) is sending his SIL over to bore holes in doors for hinges. He's a builder too and is just now starting to build cabinets like the rest of the world. He's always built them in place, like his dad taught him, but his SIL sees the future and I've been helping them through the transition. They haven't used this type of hinge before, so I'm showing them my setup. They'll be doing that in the shop while I deck off.

This evening, the senior center is having 'Italian night' where they have samplings of Italian food, so I'm in for eating Italian. It'll probably be stuff other that lasagna and pizza, knowing the ladies putting it on, but it is always good...they had a 'ramein noodle night' a few months back and it wasn't bad.

Well, I got to get moving. Have yourselves a great Tuesday.

Hidey-ho! Heat wave - it was already almost up to freezing this morning, which doesn't sound like much, but it's better than 20 degrees colder than that. Supposed to be in the 40's today, probably a good day to be a windshield washer fluid salesman.

Tom, with your list, you put the "tired" in "retired" :P

Have a good day, all!

Read about some town in Italy where houses are super cheap because they're a little out of the way and the population has been shrinking. Much more affordable.

But imagine what kind of paint job Michelangelo's house must have ;-)

Probably not much. A mechanics car needs work, a painters house needs paint and a plumbers house probably needs plumbing because even plumbers hate f@(%ing plumbing.

Got part of the way there and was told to turn around. That's was good. Got most of the way home and I get a call that a tractor trailer is outside the nursery with one of the 3 sheds we bought. Not good. I was only 10 minutes away so I met the driver and we got the shed pulled onto the lot. They had to change it over to another specially designed shorter trailer to drop it. Put it close to where it was going. Friday 3 more pieces are coming. Two sheds that will bolt together and a front porch. Also have a crane coming to set everything in place. Big crane. The shed that came in looks great. 14x30 big doors on each end and a side door for people to access without opening the big doors. The combined shed is 28 x 30 I think or close to it. I'll take pics eventually. These sheds are top of the line and hurricane rated. Also passes one of the toughest building codes in the country. Ours.

pretty day here today, supposed to warm up as the week goes on then of course by the weekend cold and raining again as soon as I'm off to enjoy it. Did get an invite to a last minute condo rental for the week at Gulf Shores - planning on trying to take up on that. I need away from here, too much stressing me. Possibly leave Fri/Sat and come back Fri/Sat. It will be the first solid week I'd have off in 8 years. fingers crossed plans work out.

Hey guys...long day. Plumbers SIL was here at 8:05. I got him started and then got to working on the awning. When GS got here we went down and picked up the last 4 sheets of decking that I needed and we started putting that up. At noon, GS left for lunch (with his mom) and I got a phone call that my lumber truck was an hour away, and he had counter top material, so I had to run to the school to get the forklift to have it available to unload the material. I get back with it and the freaking truck shows up about two minutes later. So no lunch for me.

After that, GS and I continued the decking and then tar papering (not really tar paper anymore). Talked to the roofers, they were tickled that I had that done and said they would be over to do the roofs next week. Went back to finish picking a few things up and I quit at 4:30 to go to the Sr. Center for Italian night. Food was good.

Weather was outstanding today. I had the doors open all day, right from the start. Upper 60s maybe low 70s and light breezes. All that fresh air worked me over, my butt is tired.

Evening CGs!

Had a day of doing nothing that somehow kept me busy with little time for myself? Stuff with the kids, took the dog to the vet, etc. That was an experience, I'll post more tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day!
