CLOUDY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS, IT MAY RAIN THEY SAY. THE GREEN IS CLOSING IN.

WE MANAGED TO GET THRU THE LAST TWO ROUNDS OF SKEET WITHOUT GETTING RAINED OUT, THE WEATHER HAS ACTUALLY BEEN PLEASANT FOR THE THREE WEEKS, UNLIKE PAST LEAGUES WHEN WE FRIED AND COULDN'T SEE THE HIGH HOUSE BIRDS ON 7 & 8.

PEOPLE ARE SAYING THEY SEE LOTS OF COPPERHEADS THIS SPRING; I'VE SEEN NO SNAKES AT ALL EXCEPT A NICE BIG BLACK SNAKE WHEN I MOWED THE OBSTACLE COURSE.

TEE, YOU SAY YOU'RE GOING COMPOSITE ON YOUR DECK, WE HAVE HAD IT ON THE FRONT PORCH/DECK FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND ARE VERY PLEASED WITH IT.

good morning, hope things have been going well for everyone. We've gone from winter, a three hour spring and straight into summer here. Have tried to do the scuba diving thing. Not sure this will work out. One more attempt this weekend. Last weekend was a banquet for the BF as he was recipient of the GM Mark of Excellence award top 20 techs in the zone of 85 dealerships. I think they said around 300 techs overall. Nice fancy dinner, a small gift card, found out about some past points he'd earned, another $600 gift card and free booze, etc. Good time was had by all.
Have a great day y'all...
Hate to see the month is half over and yes, so is the year unfortunately.

Howdy! Been swamped since the git-go, gonna work on un-swamping myself this afternoon. Had a beautiful evening for golf last night, won my match to boot.

Good on your BF, Letty!

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

I understand about the swamped! My taxes and a medicaid review at the same time, then them messing it up and having medicaid cut off for her then now having to start it all over and anxiety attacks during it all. And I'm trying to just live my own life. Was trying to plan a vacation for my 50th and her an this medicaid mess has flat out ruined it.

Good Afternoon CGs!

That's nice to be recognized, VB. I'm sure you're proud of him.

Sitting here pissed off. Fence installation was scheduled for today. Fucking assholes didn't show up. Text my salesman, he says sorry the supplier didn't make the panels and get them to us yet. Bullshit. Behind from weather, just be honest. But what really pisses me off is NO ONE called me to tell me. What isy recourse? Nothing. They already have a 50% deposit so I can't even go elsewhere. Irritating as all hell.

Oh well. Hope everyone has a great day!

Matt, can you not get your deposit back? To me, that's considered locking up the contract when a deposit is given. then when they don't show up and DO call, with a good reason. Okay. but no call no show - that to me is a breach of contract and I'd expect my deposit back. Return on items ordered is their problem unless they want to make good on me staying home waiting all day, loss of work, loss of pay, etc. That kinda mess pisses me straight off. I'm self employed so no workie no monie

Speaking of snakes, have seen a couple of black racers and a king snake. I don't hurt them. One of them I actually escorted out of my back patio where he was trapped.

Pissed? Sunday I was so pissed off at the boarding agent for his cavalier attitude about my seat change. I had confirmed seats a week ago. "It shows here you didn't pay. There is nothing I can do about it. You'll have to take it up with them." (United customer disservice). We went from row 20 D/E to row 38 B and E. Not even seated together. I booked in November. Had a receipt showing paid. United never charged it. Also I booked my flights and transfers from Carnival. United could do nothing to change my flight to an earlier flight with seats open on the earlier flight. I learned an invaluable lesson. Book my travel myself. Make United one of my last air options. I rarely get really pissed but had thoughts of spending the night in a Houston lock up for giving the counter agent a fist sandwich.

AN EVENTFUL DAY: WEED-EATED THE DOG PEN WITH NO UNTOWARD PHYSICAL REPERCUSSIONS, THEN A VERY LIVELY LITTLE THUNDERSTORM DUMPED TWO INCHES OF RAIN ON US IN ABOUT A HALF HOUR WITH PEA TO MARBLE SIZE HALE. AFTER NOON I EXECUTED A SQUIRREL THAT GOT ABOVE HERSELF AND TRIED TO ROB A BIRD FEEDER RATHER THAN POLICING UP UNDERNEATH. SAW A CHIPMUNK ON THE EAST PATIO AND THOUGHT, "WONDER HOW LONG HE WILL LAST"; FOUND HIS PARTLY EATEN REMAINS ON THE SUN ROOM RUG AFTER SUPPER. BRAVECAT IS DEATH ON CHIPMUNKS :-(

Hey guys.....started off before 8 this morning trying to get the rest of the decking off before noon. Had #1 GS here helping, but still didn't get it done. Every screw, we had to take an awl to scratch out the crap from the Phillips recess so we could unscrew them. And even then there were some that didn't want to come out. Went up to eat and came back and pulled a couple more boards off before I had to run to the 'city' so I could pick up some treated lumber to replace about 8 of the floor joists that had rot in them...not too bad for a 34 year old deck. Picked up some other things I'll need too, beings they had 11% rebate on everything. Also ran out to the golf course south of the 'city' as my #2 GS had applied for a job and needed to drop his application. They told him he had the job, ust needed the app on file. He starts Monday. When I left Menards, I pulled away from the stop light and the load shifted and with the slick bed liner, the 16, 2 x 8s 12 foot long slid right out the back and on the road..... F*#K! I thought I had it tied in pretty good......nope. I back up and, luckily, a friend happened to be right there and saw my situation, stopped and helped me load and get it tied down... this time securely.

I got home, unloaded the lumber and supplies and went back to getting the rest of the decking off. Worked until almost dark, but it is done. Tomorrow I'll remove the rotted joists and replace them with the new ones. I also got the beam which had sunk into the soil fixed. That particular post was sitting where, when we built the house, the ramp for the front end loader created for digging the basement. I thought I had it water packed enough before I built the deck. But within 5 years, it had sunk. So, I removed several boards at that time to go in and repair that.....well, it took another 15 years before it was done sinking. So that needed to be fixed again. I'll bolster the beam up tomorrow as well.

Time for a shower and hit the hay.

Oh, yea, Gris....I put composite decking on a deck about 10 years ago and that one looks just as good today as the day I did it.
