Good Morning CGs!

Got the replacement parts for the wife's car in the mail. Started working on it Thursday morning and everything was smooth. Found out that in addition to the coil going out the pulley bearing was also shot. Most likely the bad bearing took out the coil with it. Of course the wife never heard anything....start putting the new pulley on and there was some type of interference/fitment issue. Ugh. Chinese parts. With no other choice I had to start grinding and sanding the new pulley to clean it up. Got it close but not perfect and had to stop and clean up for work. Car is still in pieces, I'll try to finish it up today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

GOOD LUCK WITH THE CAR MATTHEW.
IT'S A LITTLE MORE PLEASANT OUTSIDE THIS MORNING, DARLING WIFE IS LUXURIATING ON THE FRONT PORCH. THAT WON'T LAST TOO LONG; IT'S GOING TO GET HOT TODAY.

DID SOMETHING TO MY FOOT YESTERDAY EVENING, NOT SURE WHAT, IT HURT ALL NIGHT AND STILL DOES. THE JOYS OF OLD AGE :-|

This is why my credit card and good local mechanic are my friend. ;) Of course, you need to conserve funds so you can get more tools.

Two more walls to paint on the cart shed, the front and back walls, then I can finish the trim. I have to clean the paint tray and brush after every fill because the paint dries on the brush and curdles in the tray that fast. It's like the grass around here. You can watch it grow. I only paint about 5 hours a day because working in the sun kicks my ass. It's getting done .....

Hidey-ho! Working from home today - it's raining again (it poured last night). I am considering working from home full-time - it would save me a lot of aggravation, and a couple thousand bucks a year to boot.

Have a good day, yawlz!

THE DAY PROGRESSES, ALREADY GETTING HOT. THE BBD AND TWINS WERE OUT IN THE WEST YARD THIS MORNING, THE LITTLE ONES RACING AROUND LIKE MAD, BEING OUT IN THE OPEN SEEMS TO EXCITE THEM.

MADE A RUN TO THE FT GIBSON LIBRARY TO DONATE SOME READ-OVER BOOKS. #1 DAUGHTER GETS THE GOOD ONES, THE ONES NOT WORTH PASSING ON GO TO THE LIBRARY.

NEVER TRIED THAT. I ALWAYS TRIED TO KEEP WORK AT WORK AND HOME AT HOME. COMPARTMENTALIZATION WORKED WELL FOR ME.

BUT I DOUBT MY COMMUTES WERE ANYTHING LIKE YOURS.

The part from Nissan, who is the only supplier, is $550. The Chinese part from eBay was $40.

While I was laying in bed last night I had an epiphany brainstorm thinking about the problem. This morning when I worked on it I measured the depth that the bearing was pressed at in the pulley and it was wrong. I was able to reset the bearing to the correct depth and everything is working. Crisis averted.
