I guess I was AWOL yesterday. Got up and Rosie decided we needed to go to the 'city' for a few things. And I needed to go see our former priest to work on his computer (he lives in the 'city' now). So we made the trip over got our stuff done and I scheduled bird dog (what I call the new pickup, because within a few weeks I hit 5 with it) for an oil change. I get two "free" ones within the first year. It freaking takes 12 or 14 quarts for a change.....heck yea I'll let them foot that bill twice.

It was warm yesterday, but not bad for August. The next week we are supposed to be below normal on temps (low-mid 80s to low 90s). I can live with that.

I trust everyone here will have a wonderful day, prayers to those who need them.

New lawnmower, 39 hours, hot day, Ran 2 hours, turned off. Went to start. Click, click, click click. Me ...

I was wondering if the solenoid or starter got heat soaked. Going to go over and try a cold start this morning. I'll go through the assembly instructions and make sure everything is as it should be. Doesn't anything come out of the box and give you 10 years of carefree performance anymore?

ANOTHER STICKY AUGUST MORNING IN THE NATIONS, "THEY" PREDICT RAIN OFF AND ON ALL WEEK.

NEED TO MAKE A RUN OUT WEST TO CHECK ON THE PROSPECTS FOR DOVE SEASON. WON'T BE MUCH WITH SON DOWN, PROBABLY JUST ME, MY HIGH SCHOOL BUDDY, AND #2 SIL. DON'T KNOW IF #7 GRANDSON CAN SIT STILL LONG ENOUGH TO PARTICIPATE :-)

COULD JUST GO TO OKMULGEE, BUT #1 SIL & BROTHERS ARE NOT AS SERIOUS ABOUT THE HUNT AS I LIKE.

Greetings! Kinda gloomy-looking out there, but hopefully it will clear up in time for golf later.

I'm sure my old Honda self-propelled mower is on borrowed time, but after 17 years, it still starts on the first pull. I have only used it for trim mowing for the past 13 years since I bought my rider, so it has had a pretty easy life. I was having some finicky carb problems with it a few years ago, but ever since I switched to non-ethanol premium gas, she purrs like a kitten.

Have a good day, all!
