GOOD MORNING ALL, I'M OFF TO THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING GUNSHOW, A LONG DAY AHEAD. NOT RAINING YET BUT SOON.

TOMMY, HOPE YOU DIDN'T DO YOURSELF TOO MUCH DAMAGE.

Yesterday's debacle could have been so much worse. Like a crazy man (not much effort put forward there) I held onto the cabinet not wanting it to fall over and break all the glass. That left little option than to fall on me. My darling wife Sue still believes me capable of lifting heavy objects. It's actually something I hate to engage in but with Sue I end up in the position of "This has to be done now. I need your help." all the time. Huge trees, bargain finds and so on.
The morning after tells all. Lower right back, both knees and my right foot where the cabinet ended up are sore. It was a slow fall and a blast of adrenaline help minimize the effects. The cabinet was more resting on my right foot with low impact. Just one heavy sonofabitch. I walked it off, lifted it onto a 4 wheel dolly with the other two guys, moved it in front of the base and hoisted one more time into position. I've been saying for a couple of years now "I'm getting too old for this shit." but nobody (Sue) wants to listen. One day I'll be one of the healthiest dead men in the crematorium that week.

Morning guys...The cleaning spree at the house has migrated to our closets. Rosie started going through her clothes, so It was something I've been meaning to do myself, so I went through my closet and my drawers....between the two of us, we have filled several 40 gallon trash bags. Time for a trip to Sally's or local budget shop.

We got almost three inches of rain overnight. That brought on much cooler temps, so we have opened up the house to let fresh air in.

Take care of yourself Tommy. You're not that young buck anymore.

Hopefully you threw away the ones with holes or skid marks.

You guys wear me out. Need go to through closets here too. Might be HAVING to. Got a flooring estimate for the termite issue a few months ago. They've been dragging their feet complaining they can't match flooring, etc. Now I guess I know why. I now have to have 2 estimates for complete removal and reinstall of the wood flooring since they say they can't match. First estimate was $8000 labor only, materials not included. Seriously???? 1800 sf of just wood part in the house, the rest is tile. But JEEZ.... that's insane. Or am I out of touch? Another person coming Monday for a second estimate.

Wood floors......been there.....done that...... its almost as good a way to spend lots of money as Corvettes or Harleys....... all I can tell you is keep shopping till you find a place somewhat reasonable.....We had 4 large sized rooms done in 3/4" Hickory stained a Gunstock brown...... but we must have had over $20K in it when it was all done.....its crazy what that stuff costs.....and then there is the labor........ We resisted the cheaper routes like laminate and some of the other options...... so of course the real wood stuff is more pricey..... It does have a 50 year guarantee though........ so I won't have to worry about ever having to redo it........

Keep sending that rain Tee..... the more the better....... been raining all morning and if it is wide spread enough I will be done for the season...... that would be vonderful vonderful...........

Nap time.......

I concur. We can all handle this big stuff easily … until we can't. The thing that frightens me most is permanent damage.

VB, 1800 square feet is a lot. Look online and you'll see installation only is $4-8 a square foot. Adds up quick.

Yea, that's probably about right. $4-8/SF install and probably about that for materials.....

Spent the day in the shop cleaning, and getting some things ready for sale from the house. The cleaning spree continues.
