SUNNY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS, 55 ON THE FRONT PORCH. A NICE FALL MORNING; THE CHEROKEES REJOICE.

ABOUT EIGHT HOURS WINDSHIELD TIME YESTERDAY TO HOT SPRINGS AND BACK, OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS, HILLS, AND CURVES. WOULD HAVE BEEN A FUN DRIVE IN A 'VETTE, BUT SAM'S OLD CHRYSLER VAN---NOT SO MUCH. SOMETHING QUITS ON THAT THING EVERY TIME WE GO SOMEPLACE IN IT, THIS TIME THE ALTERNATOR QUIT LESS THAN HALF WAY HOME AND WE LIMPED IN ON BATTERY ONLY.

PEOPLE HE BOUGHT THE SLOTS FROM HAD A LL KINDS OF GAMBLING PARAPHERNALIA SALVAGED FROM THE OLD CASINOS, CRAPS TABLES, ROULETTE TABLES & WHEELS, CHUCK-A-LUCK & HAZARD SET UPS, AND A PLETHORA OF SLOTS. SAM BOUGHT A SIX-PAC OF ASSORTED. HOPE HE CAN SELL THE DAMN THINGS; THE MARKET FOR JAP SWORDS IS REALLY SLOW THESE DAYS. THE SUPPLY OF WWII BRING BACKS SEEMS TO HAVE DRIED UP.

Hidey-ho! After a taste of sunshine yesterday, we are back to semi-gloom. Hope the Viqueens don't add to it tonight. Meanwhile, since October is almost here, I really need to get cracking on fall chores.

Have a good day, all!

Morning guys...slept in again. This is getting easier each day. Sunny and cool 46 now but mid 70s in the offering. Headed out to golf pretty soon. Tomorrow by this time, we’ll be on the road home. So we’ll enjoy the last day here.

Got to go!

I have an interesting situation but no time now to write about it. Maybe tomorrow.

Back from golf. It was absolutely gorgeous out today. I played pretty well too. Shot another 85. Took longer than it should, as this morning we had frost all over and they had to wait for the frost to melt off before they would let the golfers start.....that was an hour and a half delay. And then it was all backed up when we got going, but it was all good.

We are getting some lunch going here then Rosie will go to the Rec center to swim. I think I see a nap in my future.

Can’t wait to hear your story Tommy.

Doggie has an unknown stomach/intestine blockage. Not complete and the vet said to watch him, fluids, and a bland diet. He's back to eating today which is a start but still won't go poop. Hopefully he passes whatever is ailing him. He was in a lot of pain yesterday, but that seems to have diminished quite a bit.

Here's a tip for you guys:

Did you know sump pump motors have something called dielectric oil in them? I didn't. Guess how I found out....I use a sump pump to drain the pool faster. Tried it today and kept blowing the GFCI. So I noticed the intake grate was covered solid from old leaves. Decided to take it apart and clean it. During disassembly this oily water type liquid poured out. Started researching it...it's to cool and lubricate the motor. Of course it's a pain in the ass to find replacement oil and you aren't supposed to use other types of oil (including mineral oil) due to the conductive properties ... Apparently vegetable oil is an acceptable substitute. So guess what I'll be using. We'll see how it goes since I only use it a few times a year anyway.

Hope everyone has a great day!

We pretty much only use vegetable oil when we're frying foods. More than a few times a year though.

Here's what was happening.

The owner of the property we sold last year said I have to start moving out my sons stuff that was being stored in the shed. He let us store it there till he needed the space. Now the time has come. I told my son on more than one occasion to go through and throw out what can be thrown out, donate what you want to donate and sell whatever you think you can sell. He ignored what I told him. Yesterday I told him we have to move the stuff out. He tells me "It can stay right there. I have no emotional attachment to it." I told him "No, it can't stay there. The owner wants the space." Sonny boy says "Well I'm not moving it and I'm not going to help move it." to which I responded "Consider the stuff gone." I told Sue I may need to store some of the things in another storage location. Sue tells me, "Well your not storing anything in the nursery and your not storing anything at the house." So I have a 10' x 10' area in a a shed I have to clear, an owner that refuses to help and a spouse that refused to let me have any storage space for any of it.
No matter. I now consider it abandoned property. Sue relented on giving me any space and said I can use the old office. As of now she is thinking of storing a few things such as the bedroom suite and some boxes of documents. That's what I needed. I'm going to go through this stuff and trash, recycle, donate, give away and possibly sell some of the it and store a few things. Like I mentioned, I now consider it abandoned property. Maybe one day Sonny-boy will snap out of it. Maybe he won't. I'm not near as emotionally connected to the whole situation that I once was.

Que Sera, Sera .........

"And now you know the REST of the story. Good day!"
