Our 2012 is aging wonderfully, except for one thing: the telematics. Designed in the early 2000s, released in mid 2004, and only fitfully modernized during the life of C6, they really age the interior.

So, I'm seriously exploring replacing the head unit and adding a backup camera. The head unit is contrained by various factors: we want to keep our OnStar and CD capability while adding CarPlay and backup camera functionality. At this point, it looks like our choices come down to JVC, Kenwood, and Pioneer.

That should not be a hard fix I'm thinking.... but I suppose there will be no plug and play options.... still I bet it has been done many times.... Probably a search on other forums will help in making the transition.... I use my phone for GPS and XM radio so don't need a whole lot...although a nice back up camera would be nice....

JOHN MY '96 HAD AN AFTERMARKET PIONEER SET UP WHEN I GOT IT.
WHEN IT WENT HAYWIRE I FOUND ZERO PRODUCT SUPPORT FROM PIONEER IN THIS AREA.

THIS MAY NOT BE SO WHERE YOU ARE, BUT LOOKING INTO BEFORE DECIDING.

I have this one:

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX99 ... ood-Excelon-DDX9903S.html

The new version is:

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DDX99 ... ood-Excelon-DDX9905S.html

I am quite happy with it.

Also, you will need this if you want to maintain OnStar:

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541RP5GM ... M11-Wiring-Interface.html

Do you want to upgrade the entire audio? Or just the head unit?

My 2006 does not have Bose, but I do have new speakers, amps and a sub... it will be killer, once I get around to installing it all!!!
