CLEAR, CALM, AND COLD IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, THERE'S A STRANGE BRIGHT LIGHT IN THE SKY. THERE'S AN OLD INDIAN LEGEND ABOUT SOMETHING CALLED "SUN", COULD THIS BE IT?

ACTUALLY, THE SUN CAME OUT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND THE SOUTH WIND WENT CRAZY. SOMETIMES ITS NICE TO BE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE RIDGE :-)

NOTHING ON THE AGENDA, I'LL DO SOME OUTSIDE CLEAN-UP ID AND WHEN IT WARMS UP SOME.

LETTY, DID IT EVER QUIT RAINING OVER YOUR WAY?

Morning guys...slept in this morning. But like you Gris, the sun is shining. It is cold though, 8 at 6:30, 13 now. The weather buffoons are saying low 40s. That would be nice to start melting this white stuff, there's a lot to melt, so let's get started. It was a wet snow.

Rosie is making breakfast, and I am thinking about heading to the shop to work on the bench.

Have a great Sunday!

Good afternoon, all.

A quiet weekend—one of my sisters, her husband, and my nephew came over today. While the rest of the adults talked downstairs, I brought my nephew upstairs to watch what I described as "bad racing." What did we watch last time, I asked him: "bad golf" he said.

High winds coming in this evening and lasting about a day. We have the hatches reasonably battened down, but I have concerns with how well our local trains will handle it—they have that high-tech PRR electrification from 100 years ago.

They can fix those Andy...I highly recommend having it done ASAP, as once you get it fixed you'll wonder why you waited so long.

Worked in the shop most of the day. Bench is all fitted, and major parts stained....tomorrow I'll assemble/glue it together. Also worked on the doors to some cabinets I'll be building for Rosie's new office. I wasn't sure I was going to get that job, as it was included with a bigger project I didn't want to mess with. But I talked with the contractor and he was willing to let me do them, but wanted to make sure I knew where I needed to be price-wise. I was thinking I could do the project for $1200-1500......he showed me his bid (from a local box store) and they were at $3500 ....Wow! Yea, I'll do it for that amount and I'll install them for you! So I got the job.
Pretty easy money!

It did warm up, but not into the low 40s, just the upper 30s...but snow was melting really well.

I am eternally surprised by the lack of correlation in the building trades between the quality of the work performed and the cost.

Too bad you aren't here Tee, I have a friend who the local box store did a vent a hood install for her and it's still jacked up in a $300,000 house - looks like a trailer kitchen. She's mad as hell. And they broke her exterior door hauling out stuff. Can't get them to deal with her now.
Yes Billi it finally stopped raining here and the sun is out, I even catnapped in the hammock outside a bit, nice and warm. Rain due back in near the end of the week although not quite at the usual Biblical proportions we hope.
Yes, Andy get those knees fixed and prayers for you until then!
Strange day here, got up to go to the nursing home to visit and they called me first, sent her to the hospital. I tried to tell them she had a UTI due to her confusion of course Im not the nurse so she suffers a couple extra days. She should be back now but I"ll visit tomorrow maybe and let her rest today.
And, my ex husband called. I heard from him the other day he has a bad heart and said he's just waiting to die, nothing they can or will do for him, doesn't quality for transplant due to smoking and whatever else. Well, he's been in Kansas City for the last month in the hospital, lifestyle changes I suppose and he is the proud recipient of a new heart. I literally cried. He has been given a gift of a new life and a second chance. He's about a year younger than me. Just in time for Easter he said and has lost 38 pounds so he can wear his new Easter suit. This is the same time of year in 2009 I was losing my mother and lost her at 4 days before Easter. He doesn't know the donor family but would like to find them and thank them for his gift. He called me to thank me for inspiration I gave him to continue to make some changes and follow through or something, it was hard to understand as he couldn't talk very loud or clearly. I do not see where I had any input but if he felt I did, so be it. I told him I was very happy for him and he should feel blessed.

Hello everybody.

Went to breakfast uptown and a couple of places to check out for potential jobs. Stopped by one of the Miami casinos on the way home and gave the anticipated donation. I dropped in a twenty turned it into ninety and figured we'd just forget about the rest of our losses and head home. Cut your losses an run. We had fun though with the back and forth.

Sorry to hear about the bad knee there Andy. Ithink the worst part about a bad knee is that when it’s bad enough to make you have to sit around all day, but your brain is saying ,”I need to get XYZdone.” It’s the kind of stuff that makes me crazy...
