Good Morning CGs!

Cold here. Again. Surprise. I hate winter.

I was driving home the other night and lamenting over how I miss driving the Vette. Soon enough.

Time to get the kids to school.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sun back out for a brief time this morning then the clouds have rolled in. Was at the hospital till nearly midnight with cousin and her procedure, they were way late. All bleeding and clotting removed, cause undetermined. I'm bout to call and check on her. The nursing home wakes me up at 6am for something stupid. They sensed my unhappiness. Gonna be another long day.
About those black elephant ears, Tommy - I picked up bulbs at my local lowe's for Black Magic ones - they do awesome year after year - I bring plants inside so that I end up with at least 2. They produce runners that go all over the place and I share with friends. They also bloom like crazy - this year each plant had blooms, one having about 6 then once more when I brought it indoors. Got a case of the fungus gnats though I'm after which ended up killing my baby pindo palm and part of my four-trunk Christmas palm. I want another pindo palm, the Christmas palm I think will make it sans 2 trunks.
Marcus - on the publishing - be careful who you go through as they do lock you into Amazon only and also will eat up any profits - so be sure to read the fine print. AuthorHouse was one outfit that they got tangled up with here that I think ended up being a no-no and I saw other emails from a place called bookwhip - not sure where that ended up. The wife of this project passed away , then my boss found the husband to be a sham and he walked away from it all.

Hey guys...I got an early start today. My lumber truck was supposed to be here around 8 am to unload some counter top material and some plywood. I needed the fork lift (remember, I use the schools) and 8 isn't a great time for the truck to be pulling around the school, so I told him I'd get the fork and we'd just unload at the house. So last night, I called one of the maintenance guys to arrange using the fork. I told him I'd come get it early. Then I watched the weather and found out it was going to be a balmy 5 with breezes making the wind chill -8 to -10 at 7am. This prompted me to gather lots of warm clothes and really regretting having to drive the fork 1/2 mile from the school to the house. Anyway I got up and around, and was at school by 7:20 and was back home by 7:45...I went inside to warm up a bit, when my phone rang...."hey Tom, how soon will you be done with the fork?" "I just got here and the truck isn't here yet....Why?" "Well, we have a delivery truck here needing to unload a couple pallets." ....crap "I'll call my truck and see how long it will be." So I call and he says it will be about 30 minutes, so I told him I was going back to school to unload there, then I would be right back. Then I call the school guy and tell him I'm on my way. So I road the fork back to school, unload the pallets and head back home. Just as I turn the corner, my truck comes around the block. I get out and help the driver open the side of the truck and then unload my stuff, help him close up the trailer sign the papers and jump back on the fork, and pick up the load, 12' long material, and haul it around the block and down the alley to put it on the saw horses under the awning at the shop. Then I head back to the school. By the time I get back in my pickup, it's 9:10 and I'm a frozen Popsicle. It took until noon before my finger warmed up and another hour after that before my toes warmed.

I'm kind of wishing I was with Marcus.....

Rosie and I did meet with the CPA (we got a new one this year...his office is here in town, instead of the 'city') and he says we will be getting a refund from Fed and have to pay a little to the State. Better than last year where we had to pay (big time) to Fed and a little to the state.

I'm still trying to warm up.

Oh, this evening our priest flys back in from being on vacation. Flying in to the airport over at the 'city' and I told him I'd pick him up....flight due in at 10:45pm and about a 40 minute drive to and from.....going to be a late night for me tonight.

Tom, that reminds me of when I was a young lad from about 18 to 21 years old working on the flight line in winter at Ramstein A.B. Germany. The winter weather was like you mentioned. Brutal. Frozen feet, frozen hands, frozen ass, frozen face. It wasn't like I could say no. I worked many winters in the Boston area washing trucks. Funny. When I came to Florida to celebrate Christmas in 1978, I was in my bathing suit sitting by a pool drinking adult beverages and barbaqueing. I said to myself I could do this every Christmas. I got out of the service in February 1979 and moved to South Florida. Been here for 40 years now. Only experience cold weather when I want to now. That's not too often.

All the things you do for the church and the priest should earn you a right to a random special dispensation as needed.

THE NATIONAL SOCIALIST PROPAGANDISTS, HAVING SAVED US FROM THE CURSE OF CONFEDERATE STATUES, ARE TURNING THEIR EFFORTS TO OLD MOVIES AND MUSIC THAT ARE NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT. THESE WILL BE REVIEWED BY THE MEDIA THOUGHT POLICE AND DELETED IF THEY WOULD CAUSE A SNOWFLAKE TO MELT.

CUSTER, BTW, WAS A NARCISSISTIC JERK WHO PROBABLY KILLED MORE CAV TROOPERS THAN INDIANS.

I need all the help I can get, Tommy.

Just saw the weather forecast for the next couple of days....more near 'normal', mid 40s Thursday and Friday, then back to the deep freeze Saturday and into the deep, deep freeze Sunday....and more snow.
