Morning guys...MIA yesterday. The weather was nearly perfect, 61 for a high and very light breeze. I had a little job to do for Father. He had asked me to make a new top for the table in his basement...where he has meetings with other priests/families in mourning/church council/etc. So, I had figured out a solution that would be inexpensive and relatively easy. The table top was going to be 5' x 10'. The problem is/was both set of stairs are enclosed and end at the bottom against the basement wall and four "winders". No way to get a full 5 x 10 top down there, actually, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to take a 5 x 5 down. With the help of Rosie and Father we were able to get the two halves in the basement.

Then I had to put the two halves together and prep it for the Formica. If you've ever put Formica down, you know that is a BIG piece to try and man-handle. Also, I only use the "good" glue.....the smelly solvent based stuff, and in an enclosed basement the fumes just hung in there and making me light-headed. A hundred plus, square feet of the glue 'flashing off' puts lots of fumes in the air.

Waiting then for the glue to flash, I headed outside to clear my head. About 30 minutes later The 3 of us are able to lay it out and stick it. Then the edging had to go on. By the time I got it finished up it was after 3 and church at 4 just barely left enough time to go home and clean up.

After church we went back over to finish cleaning up. Rosie then came home and I backed the pickup out so she could put the first round of fertilizer on the lawn and I took the pickup down to the car wash to clean off all the road grime and crap from all the snow we've had.

The chemicals they use made all the chrome (wheels, bumpers, trim and running boards) yucky. Washing wouldn't take it off. I had to get the polisher out with some mild, mild abrasive polish to clean all that crap off.

Today, the plan is to clay-bar the pickup and give it a coat of wax and wash the Caddy.

Have a wonderful St. Patrick's Sunday!

I better get some green on so I don't get pinched.......

Well Corvette racing pulled out a 3rd place win yesterday when one of the GT 40's spun on one of the last laps and the number 3 Vette jumped into 3rd and held on till the finish. Pooorchaa's were 1 and Ford 2 with Corvette 3. We were in first or second and then had to pit and fell back to 5th and ended up 3rd.....

Going back there one of these days.

Cold and clear here but it looks like we will be hitting the magic 60 degree mark later this week...... bring it on.....

Haff a goot day Guru's.....

Good Morning CGs!

Happy St Paddy's Day to all!

Another cool day here. We have a kids' birthday party today. Leaving in a few minutes. Should be fun, the kids get to jump around and play at a gymnastics type place.

I have to do a detail on the wife's suv. A milk jug spilled and although she cleaned up it still has a foul stench. Great.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Learned something today. St. Patrick. Patrick was not his given name but took it when he became a priest. he was not born in Ireland but was born in Scotland or Wales. Before 1961 all the bars were closed on St, Patrick's Day. It wasn't until the commercialists got a hold of it and turned it into the day we celebrate today. Did the car dealerships have a St Patrick's Day Luck of the Irish Special? Helped Sue with a small job this morning which meant we got up at 06:00. Did some grocery shopping after and later I took a nice 2 1/2 hour nap. Woke up and took care of all the critters and a few chores. Back to putting a dent in the lounger.

Well, mission accomplished! I finished up detailing the interior of the pickup, then got the Caddy washed, clayed, a coat of Rejex applied, vacuumed, interior detailed and all the rubber, vinyl and leather treated......Went over to the 'city', picked up a few groceries, then back home. Once home I got a coat of Rejex on the pickup......very successful day and still 2+ hours of daylight left.

Lots on the agenda for tomorrow.

Just one more to do, Tommy. 007 isn't too dirty, but I will do the yearly clay and I need to do a little paint correction, some swirls and fine scratches need to be buffed out and a paint sealed then waxed.....I'd like to try my hand at ceramic coating, but the paint needs to be perfect when you do that.
