Hah! Did a lot of background research yesterday, so hardly any writing. Up to 13,400 words/45 pages.

Rainy and chilly in the Philadelphia area today. Not a great day to move a 600 pound hyper-converged device—but we did.

Morning guys...Another pretty cool start for springtime, 27 when I got up, but it is supposed to be a really pretty, almost perfect day, mid 60s and no wind.

I need to get going and get those special trim pieces made for the old house, my former student, is fixing up. Actually, it's both him and his wife who are former students. Yesterday when I talked to her, she thanked me for helping them and "saving their marriage". :-) I'm going to help them put some crown molding up too.

Have a great day guys.

Replaced the ceiling fan yesterday. Apparently the thermo neutron particle disperser in the light kit overheated closing the 7+ year run of that particular unit. Got a similar one from Lowes to keep the esthetics neutral and the price was reduced by $10 to $69.95. Such a deal. Picked up a high fashion bathroom ceiling dome unit made from authentic brushed nickle for $19.95 that looked just like the other one I was replacing only the new one has a screw in bulb fixture instead of some funky 2 prong fluorescent bulb fixture that was in the old one. I get a kick out how most ceiling lights are rated for 60 watt bulbs. Like someone can actually see anything from the light produced from a 60 watt bulb. Dammit I want some light and give my my Vulcan glasses. Of course, Sue called me late in the day to tell me the battery took a $#!+ in the box truck. Fortunately she was near an AutoZone store. I was on my way but she got a jump and parked at the store where they changed out the battery and put in a new battery hold it in place thing. I headed back home. She got to the nursery and called me again. The truck wouldn't start. + terminal bolt was a little loose. I got it most of the way tight and she was hovering over me yelping come on, hurry up. Just tighten the damn thing. It's still a tad loose but I'll tighten better when I'm not under the watchful eye of a raptor. Felt like the bolt bottomed out and I need another 1/4 or half turn to snug it up good or put in a thin washer. And so ... life goes on.

Impossible. I can't do it. At least not without complaint. She asked me last night what I planned to do today. My plans are always loosely based because of you know who. Cut grass, finish putting sand on the pond beach and possibly spray some round up type stuff and if I have any spare time cut some limbs, pick up some yard trash and pull some weeds.

Joe is not the first member to go Stang. Heck I thought of changing for a Challenger Hellcat version but I figured "What do I need 800 horsepower for?" And I can think of a few things I can do with $100,000 after taxes.

Sue's 911 has been in the shop for almost two months. 2 of the parts had to be sourced from Germany. The pulley came in but a discontinued sensor is supposedly en route. Also doing the clutch from Sach's gear shifter bushings plus it's got a shiny new flywheel. Replacing all the hard to get to sensors as well. The engine had to be pulled to properly torque the pulley. That opened the gates to "While we are in here we might as well ....." Had Sues 911 for 14 years already so might as well spend a few bucks on it and tighten it all up. Next, I'll have to get it detailed. Paint is on the dull side. Have to strip the wax, compound and buff the imperfections, clay bar it, seal it and buff to a mirror finish. HOW MUCH SHOULD THAT COST, GUYS? There is a guy that does show quality work and he wants $450. What say ye?

We wouldn't bail on our Corvettes, but the Mustangs can be tempting—and reasonably priced compared to our beloved plastic fantastic:

Oh ya the 911 also got a new pair of shoes. Pirelli P-Zero's for the miserly sum of just under $1200. Not only will Sue's car be pretty. It will be ready to take on the S's If your gonna do it, do it right. It's only money. Beside Pirelli was the only one that stocked the offset size I needed for the car. Michelin was supposed to jump in with Pilot Sport or Pilot Cups for fewer $$$. Enough!!! I have stuff to do ......

Gris, it might have been a pet chicken that was dearly loved. Working class chickens need a place to go when they retire too. Piano playing chickens, ping pong basketball playing chickens, dancing chickens. Just think about it. Chickens can run when their head is chopped off. Now that's pretty smart.

Obamacare? If you work for a company - shitty. Self employed and make sure your tax "net" is low as possible, visit your nearest Blue Cross office and much better. We're in that process now with Arron.
Medicare? Shitty. 42 pages via fax to the DHS then snail mail to them yesterday as backup. Strange to me how lazy "house whores" can sit home with 2 kids while boyfriend works up here with me making not much and SHE gets $7400 back on her no-working-a$$ tax return. I'm so mad at that I can scream right now. "They" do not have to provide a year's worth of bank statements, nor maintain a trust fund, nor do they have to manage on $40 per month and give up all assets, have to do with Medicare/Medicaid and STILL have to have $187.10 held out of their check per month for a Blue Cross supplemental insurance policy I could go on and on. anyway - THAT end of the paperwork is done for the first round, we now wait to see if I did it allright.
Also go the taxes done last night. I nearly shit. $2000 more I owe this year than last. My 'expenses' were less she said, my phone bill went down $1000 this year and so did a couple of other things so we were scrambling to find things to make up for it and get that gap successfully closed. x
On the other hand - this is where the government screws you - MATT TAKE NOTE - if you are any sort of tradesman such as a mechanic, fireman, EMT, police officer, electrician, and get a normal paycheck, but do itemize - BEWARE. The tools and equipment that you previously purchased from your own pocket that you were allowed to claim on your Federal taxes - you NO LONGER CAN. You can claim them on state (Arkansas anyway) but NOT FEDERAL. This killed Arron as he had $5,000 of tools and equipment that he is simply "out". He's about to purchase nearly a grand of diagnostic tools that will end up being claimed by me as "computer equipment" next year and we will now use whatever we can on mine including his clothing he purchases for himself. I voted for Trump but he can kiss it on this one. The hardest working bunch of Americans he royally screwed here.

I can't believe you still have that picture, Tommy. I'm pretty sure I made that about 8 years ago, lol. That was our good friend Chris, also known as CSS996. I still keep up with Chris regularly on Facebook. He got rid of his Corvette for a Mustang, then got rid of the Mustang for an SUV, and recently got rid of that again for another Mustang but this is the 08 bullitt version. Nice car.

And Tommy, to reply to your earlier comment: I don't need to pay a shop to fuck something up that I can fuck up for free Actually, I stopped at the driveshaft shop today and talked to the guys. Apparently because Nissan uses a friction welded driveshaft it is not serviceable. He told me to try to tack weld the u-joints in place which was my original plan. But he said they won't balance it after that. He said it's a waste of $115 to get it balanced. He said if it doesn't work replace the driveshaft. I can get a new one for around $400 aftermarket.

Marcus, it's not a problem if you don't admit it.

Hope you Gurus had a great day!

Tommy, unfortunately, that sounds like the going price for that type of detail....but it ought to be nearly perfect at that price when they are done.

I got all the door trim pieces made and assembled today....it was mostly an all day job. A little break when Rosie called me and needed me to modify some shelves in a cabinet she was trying to get ready for moving stuff into. Then she decides "I think we need two more shelves in the cabinet". So a bit of time building those.

I spent some time cleaning the shop up then delivered the door trim pieces to the client, he was stoked, and almost in disbelief that I had it all done in one day.

I have the shop locked up and my bag packed. We will load things up in the morning and head east.
