Morning guys...up early and went to church. Back to #3s house.

Drippy here today too. 52 now and headed to low 60s and drippy all day. Not much on the agenda here, maybe a haircut.

The nice clean Caddy, is no longer nice and clean because of the drippyness. I’ll have to clean it again once we get home.

I trust all of you will have a great day.

Yep rained most the night...... wet wet wet..... I saw some poor truck driver tried to pull off the road down on 81 the other day and the whole right side of his truck had sunk in to the axels the other side was still on pavement. He was on the phone shaking his head when I went past him..... that will be a 600 dollar day to get the wrecker out to pull him back up on the pavement......

How do I know that...... uh....just a wild ass guess.....

Got the Corvette battery charged and the clutch fluid changed with what they call the Ranger method.... hydraulic clutch you know. Need to change the oil but that needs the car to be up on the rack and my bud up here does not have his hoist in yet.... So I will rent the front end machine for a half hour down at the repair station I frequent and go out to Wal-Mart and buy 10.5 qts of Mobil 1. They come in handy 5 qt containers..... I like that.

What are you guys doing to your cars to get them ready?

Have a sublime day Guru's........

Spring has still not sprung.

Ready to pull the Corvette out of storage soon. Needs a new rad cap and a fluid top off along with an oil change. Little stuff, luckily.

Hope everyone has a great day!

NOTHING. THEY'RE ALWAYS READY, EXCEPT WHEN THEY'RE BROKE ;-)

IT QUIT RAINING, STILL OVERCAST BUT NO DRIPS. GOT THE LIMBS CUT. WITH THE POLE SAW ON FULL EXTENSION I COULD BARELY REACH THEM STANDING ON TIPTOE ARMS OVER MY HEAD. I'M TOO OLD FOR THIS KIND OF CRAP.

THINK I'LL EAT AN APPLE AND TAKE A NAP---

I'm with GRIS. Cars are always a work in progress and have a couple of odd jobs I need done for each. All driveable except the 91 Corvette. I need to lift the motor mounts for clearance, fix the alarm system and correct a short in the radio, 9O has a slow leaking slave unit and loses a little coolant, 928 needs some shifter/tranny work and the 87 911 has the engine out getting some major maintenance. Clutch plates, flywheel, belt pulley, sensors shifter bushings and associated stuff like an oil change. Also a major detail for that one. My 911 is road ready.

At 10:45 my SIL asks me to help him with a “little” project. The master bath shower has a leaking hot side valve. I look at it and tell him it needs a new gasket...and probably a new seat. Dual handle control. So we head to Lowe’s to pickup the repair kit and the special seat removal tool. Come home and proceed to take the thing apart. The first valve comes out pretty tough, but comes out, then the seat.....ok. So then the other valve comes out fairly easy, oh this job will only take one trip to the store and 30 minutes to complete. Have I EVER mentioned that I HATE F@#king plumbing? The second seat will not budge. “Do you have a propane torch?” I ask. “No. Why?” I say “Well, I think if we heat the valve housing the seat will come out”. So another trip to, Walmart this time, because it is closer than Lowe’s to get a propane torch. Back in the car we get about 4 blocks from Walmart, and I decide (who knows why, but good thing I did) to open the box and find the ”torch kit” doesn’t have the nozzle and the bottle is empty.....turn around and return to Walmart to take the first one back and pick one up that is new and complete. So another hour down the tubes. Back at home I use the torch to heat the valve body, insert the wrench and twist, yea it’s turning, then f@#k it stripped out the seat socket. Now what do,we do? Got to replace the whole freaking valve. So back to Lowe’s, and buy a valve set and shark-bite connectors to put things back together as I didn’t want to try and sweat things back together. Another hour down. Back to the house and cut the Sheetrock out in the closet to access the valve body and cut out the copper lines.....well the old valve body didn’t connect like the new one, so back to Lowe’s for another time, to buy more shark-bite fittings....another hour down. Back to, hopefully and finally, put things back together. Another hour down to get the valve installed and working ‘properly’.....no leaks, 7:15pm. So my half hour plumbing job ended up 8 1/2 hours and 4 1/2 trips to the stores.

Have I EVER mentioned that I HATE f@#king plumbing?

Drop the drips? LOL I hate when a half hour job turns into a major event. But love when a 3 hour job takes an hour because everything fell into place. Seems I see more of the former then the latter. Empty torch box ....
