Good morning, all.

After a "gully washer" yesterday evening, it's cloudy and humid today in the Philadelphia area.

26,000 words.

Went to the Miccosukee Resort and Casino for a little 4th of July action at an event called Freedom Festival. They had a nice set up. Rides for the kids, vendors, and a couple of free concerts. We went to watch the main attraction, Leann Rimes. Played our favorite slot machine before and after the concert. Buffalo. I got hammered bad on the machine (playing side by side with Sue) before the concert. Had some dinner and went to the show. After the concert we went to our usual machines up front in the casino and I caught a nice bonus round for over $250 on a.60 bet. I came out ahead for the night $20 after offsetting my earlier loss. Missed the fireworks display because we were pushing buttons. The resort was jumping. A lot of people. A good time was had by all.

SORRY JOHN, I JUST COULDN'T RESIST :-)

SUNNY AND STICKY THE THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, THIS NOT BE COMFORTABLE DAY COMING UP.

HAD A NICE EVENING WITH THE OKMULGEE CREW, EVERYBODY THERE EXCEPT #3 GRANDSON AND THE WARRIOR PRINCESS. HAD BURGERS FROM SOMEBODIES SHOW CALF, HOME GROWN TOMATOES, DEVILED EGGS, SOME KIND OF APPLE CONCOCTION MADE BY THE LITTLE GIRLS AND BIG SIS. I ATE TOO MUCH.

DROVE HOME THRU EXPLODING FIREWORKS, AND WITH EXQUISITE TIMING, GOT HERE JUST AS THE NEIGHBORS RAN OUT OF AMMUNITION.

I SHOULD PULL THE DEAD BATTERY OUT OF MY ARGO AND FIND A REPLACEMENT, BUT I'M NOT FEELING THAT AMBITIOUS NOW---

Morning guys... stayed over at #3s house until they burned through the fireworks they had. Then headed back to #1s place. Slept in some this morning. That community REALLY celebrates the 4th. Smoke from the fireworks hanging so bad you barely see across the street....all the way out of town.

Not a lot going on here. Supposed to help #1 move some stuff into the new building. Sun is shining, humidity is about 110, temp is low 70s now, but is suppose to reach upper 80s, very enjoyable!

I’ll check in later. I hope you, all, have a great day.

Looks like everyone had a happy 4th. Quiet around our house in the afternoon finally. The dude came and picked up his '52 Chevy (extended cab) truck. Why he insisted it be on a holiday is beyond me as we could've gone somewhere. Bf stayed in pool with a beer all day. It was uncommonly hot here yesterday, rain due next couple days.
I don't know if you guys have an outfit there called John 3:16 but don't buy one of their 'charity auction vehicles'. This one was and it's a PIECE. He bought it a mess, (he don't know any better), for a high price. It ended up having to be unmessed at a friend's hot rod shop. The dude then rushed them, griped and caused issues so they didn't leave on good terms. On to another shop for some stuff, then he wants a cam installed. And we ended up with it. Was way more work than it should've been. The engine is from a '78 and apparently the 'reforms' didn't even bother to look in there - was full of antifreeze the color of engine oil. Nasty. Had no thermostat, etc. The dude spent $2500 on parts for our install which ended up running $650. He even brought the wrong stuff and ARron's only day off got spent Sunday running all over the next town over to swap out and get needed parts.
Not sure how you guys feel about those groups - but this one takes meth addicts and introduces them to religion - not bad , then they go on to put them into body building, engine work, car wraps like I do, etc, and sell their produtcs. Mind you they get the luxury of evading taxes like the rest of us legitimate businesses all the while turning out junk. This isn't the first "classic" they've "redone" and sold .
Quiet at our house otherwise, sandwiches for the holiday, just too freakin' hot to cook inside or out.
In other news, the loud truck scared the dog, she ran from the shop and was gone all night. I ended up retrieving her in my Vette the next morning muddy and stinky. Arron gets to clean my car now. And probably the house since she's shedding horribly and I have a white couch that's now covered in black dog hair. Thinkin' I'll burn the couch.

Well, it's also got 42 pictures as of last count. Maybe I can reverse that formula and call it 68,000 words?

Good job on the book!

In other news: Mad Magazine ruined

This is a quote from the article:
"Being a magazine allowed MAD to get into grittier satire and brought it to the mainstream. In 2019, it's a bit harder to handle satire with a country that is so divided and that has proven to be a problem for MAD over the last handful of years. So, they will go back to where they started, which is the comic book store. "

Sad to see - that the country has become so butthurt and lacking of a sense of humor this happens

Well our neighbors didn't run out of ammo until almost midnight... kinda pissed me off....I would just get to sleep and BOOM BOOM BOOM.......and then a 500 string of Black Cats....geez...... My idea of waiting until they were all in bed and then cranking off a couple of 30 clips from the AR-15 Saint on my back deck was met with disapproval from my better half....... nuts...... I thought it was a good idea....

Rain last night....over an inch here.... kinda drizzly out now.... farmers are smiling.... no irrigation next week...... yay yay.....

Today I will explore the vast amounts of leftovers we have in two different fridges to give me substance.... also naps..... enjoy Guru's...

I need to go back and edit that - my point was THEY evade taxes, the rest of us have to pay them. That should have said UNLIKE the rest of us - but they also turn out junk, some of us try to put out good work.
That bunch (here at least) has those 'recovering' (but often still using as I personnally know a few) doing all sorts of work they know nothing about yet selling for 'profit'. Burns my ass. We used to donate to them at the body shop until we saw their first 'resto' for sale at one of their fundraising auctions. We fix cars, and every month had to sit down and write that tax check - they turn out garbage for a high dollar profit and pay zero taxes.

So are they self sustaining doing that? Or do the rely on govt funding to keep going.....? Are they church related?

Self - no gov't funding that I'm aware of but not completely sure of that, either.

They use their John 3:16 Ministry as a way to gather meth addicts, show them religion and turn them back out all brand new but with a 'skill'. Unfortunately, this 'skill teaching' involves that 'ministry' to have under it's umbrella several different things including, body shop, wrap and graphics shop, and you name it. There's absoutely no way in this world you can teach body skills, graphics skills or wrap skills to someone in such a short time and them turn out good products. Yet since they claim to be a ministry, they can make money off these 'side businesses' and not pay taxes.

Hey guys, not much done today. A couple of little jobs and a few phone calls from home. Rained off and on most of the day, but has, sort of, cleared off a bit this evening. Still upper 70s and humid.
