SUNNY AND MILD IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, HUMIDITY STILL BAD. THE CHEROKEES LONG FOR OCTOBER.

THE GREAT HUNT WAS JUST A SQUIB. THE ARKIE BOYS COULDN'T GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER AND DIDN'T MAKE IT AND AS I HAD FEARED THE COLD FRONT HAD PUSHED THE DOVE SOUTH. WE GOT SOME SHOOTING IN THE FIRST, BUT NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. THE SECOND WE ALMOST GOT SKUNKED IN WHAT I EXPECTED TO BE THE BEST SPOT. MY TROPHY SIL WAS IN FINE FORM, NOT MANY GOT BY HIM.
THE MOJO DOVE STILL BRINGS THEM IN; THE HIGH SPOT OF THE SHOOT WAS WHEN A DOVE TRIED TO BREED THE MOJO :-0
MY HI-SCHOOL BUDDY'S COPD HAS ABOUT GOT HIM DOWN. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN OUR LAST HUNT TOGETHER.

GOT LOTS OF CLEAN UP AND PUT AWAY TO DO TODAY, AND THE TRUCK NEEDS AN OIL CHANGE.

Sue's B-day is Saturday but we're having dinner with her parents tonight. They're heading up to South Carolina hill country so they can't be there Saturday. Going over to sonny-boys to see if he wants to go. He has a phone but doesn't answer it. Have to physically talk to him about anything and everything. I'll do a few chores around here today. Take the tether lines off the pond bronze statue and open the few hurricane shutters I closed. Yard clean up went pretty good and we have a truckload out front ready for pick up. Never a dull day.

Took a spirited drive in my black 911. Performed well. Stayed out of Homestead city limits because that's where most of the enforcement action is. Opened up all the windows. Next up, untether the mermaid. Have to wade in the pond for that and get up on a ladder in the water.

For some reason, one of thoese "why women live longer than men" images comes to mind when reading that.
Sunny and hot here again, humidity high as the sky. Rush job on an ambulance today and it's already ready for print and didn't even get here until 11 am. The guy's known about it since the 15th but 'forgot about it'. Riiiight.
Ready to go home and sleep but have to make dinner first and probably finish laundry.
Bought one of those "deep fry oven" thingies since Sams' had 30$ off. So far so good, catfish in there last night, worked out pretty well. So did fries. Might try some breaded zuchinni sticks.

Good Evening CGs!

Started working on the Corvette today to get the new rocker studs installed. Got the head torn down and cleaned up, new studs installed. Put the pushrods back and ruh-roh. Something wasn't right. #3 pushrod was sitting too low in the head. Fuck. Lifter is collapsed. That means the while top end has to come apart. New lifters and most likely a new cam. I think the valve is still good. I'm in a pretty shitty mood. Sorry.

Hope everyone had a great day.

That sucks! Any idea why the stud broke? Hope the damage is just the lifter.

The random F bomb dropped around here is usually a pretty good indicator of something not going as planned. Nothing ever seem to be straight forward and easy. And when it is all you can say is "I can't believe it.".

Hey guys...I was up early and headed over to the 'city' to play in a pro-am. It was a nice day, got a bit warm but the time we were done. Our Pro was a sweet little gal (women pros) who could knock the cover off the golf ball. A very enjoyable day playing golf.

When I got home, #2 GS needed oil change in his car, so I let the lift down and took 007 out and had him drive on. I made him do most of it. Then just enough time for watching the news before I had a church council meeting....I fell asleep and almost missed the meeting. Then, before the church council meet was over (long winded ladies) I had to leave to prepare for Knights of Columbus meeting (I'm grand knight this year). Luckily, we have a cook, who makes wonderful meals after our meetings. So, I just got home, my butt dragging the floor. Time for bed!
