I was writing my post when a little box popped up in the bottom of the page. I was well into a very intellectual diatribe about why I don't like to read the newspaper anymore. I clicked the little box to make it disappear and disappear it did. It closed my browser as well as several minutes of writing I had so diligently prepared. In short, I got riled up at writings about gun control, regulating the free market, changing the local urban boundary to open it for development and opening the Gulf of Mexico and Everglades to oil exploration. I go through spurts of wanting to be informed till I do the right thing and turn it all off again. I enjoy the happiness and freedom I have behind my fence. Where the fantasy land we have created is. The only thing I need to pay attention to is in my own backyard where I can pretty well do whatever the f@(% I want. As long as it doesn't involve other women, drinking, drugs or laziness, Sue will pretty much let me do as I please, with a couple of her hints thrown in .

Morning guys....I go one step beyond that, Tommy...I don't watch the fake news services either, just pisses me off to listen to their biased, one-sided, socialistic, obviously anti-American, liberal sh!t. But I don't want to tell you guys what I really think.

It's cold this morning and dampish. But I believe the snow has passed.

I'll be heading over to the 'city' after while to, hopefully, complete the small cabinet job over there. After that, I am hoping that the new part for my old CNC comes in so I can get it back up and running. I told you guys that it went down last week. Spent two days trying to get it running and figuring out the problem. The sale of the little one yesterday will go a long way to covering the cost of the new part.

Have a great day guys.

Good morning, all.

Ivelis and I returned yesterday evening from a five day jaunt to New Orleans. We took the Crescent train down and flew back.

Much good food and drink was enjoyed, including the Sazarac Bar, Commander's Palace, Hot Tin, and The Rib Rooom. In between, we found some time for some culture: we walked around the Garden district for a few hours and visited the spectacular National WWII Museum. Pictures coming if I can get to them—I have many obilgations over the next few days.

While we were down in New Orleans, we received some awful news: the "den mother" of our NCRS Chapter passed after a short and brutal battle with cancer. Elaine was the Delaware Valley chapter's "Meet/Activity Chairperson" for decades—she organized our annual Run For The Ribbons chapter meet and led the tabulation. Beyond that, she was the driving force behind the NCRS Gallery at Carlisle every year.

From what I can tell, Elaine was a major figure in the Corvette hobby for at least forty years: it seemed she knew everybody. She was also personally kind to both Ivelis and myself.

RIP.

Sorry to hear of Elaine's passing...... those kingpin people are hard to replace but someone will step into the breach and take hold and continue to move the hobby forward........ RIP.....

We got back last night from a weekend up north putting on a party for my wife's Mom.... she turned 90 yesterday and all her kids and their kids were there to celebrate.... lot of living in 90 years and most of it was tough going as she raised 5 kids on a teachers salary...... her first husband died in 74 and left her with nothing....... it was good to honor her on her 90th.

Snowy cold and gray....... a curl up in front of the fire with a good book and a hot toddy type day....... but alas I must work to keep the wolves away from the door.....

and I better figure out what I'm getting everyone for Christmas this year......... what the heck? only like 9 days left........ holy moly.....

I can't listen to the news either Tee.....just makes me angry and then there is no where to go to vent it.......

Have an interesting day Guru's.....

Good Morning CGs!

John, sorry to hear about the passing of your friend.

The boy is still sick. We had him in the ER at midnight last night after his fever refused to come down with Tylenol and hit 104.1. A little too high for our comfort. Still not strep throat, doctor said the same thing: it's a virus and might last a few more days. Great. So he's home from school today.

TB, congrats on the sale. Hope the other one is up and running soon.

TO PARAPHRASE WILL ROGERS, IF YOU IGNORE THE MEDIA YOU'RE UNINFORMED; IF YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE MEDIA YOU'RE MISINFORMED. IF TRUMP SURVIVES THE ALL OUT ASSAULT BY THE PERMANENT POLITICAL CLASS AND IS REELECTED THEY MIGHT SWING ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE OTHER EXTREME. ONE THING YOU CAN COUNT ON: FACTS AND REALITY MEAN NOTHING TO THEM, NOW OR THEN.

MATT, I HOPE BOY CHILD IS FEELING BETTER. IT'S ALWAYS SCARY WHEN THE LITTLE ONES GET SICK.

I was born in Democratic territory but declared independence early on. I vote for the best candidate regardless of party. I stay informed enough to know what's going on and have been known to preach about population growth, habitat and species loss, pollution, gun ownership, anti socialism, pro life and a host of other hard line positions. I stand behind the elected President though I am not a Trumpet. Believe the House and Senate have lost the ability to resolve issues civilly and the electorate is out to lunch. I'm not a radical. Love nature but not a tree hugger. I stand behind the Constitution, The Bill of Rights and the visions imparted to us by our forefathers. I salute and fly the flag, honor veterans and and respect the rights of others though I may disagree. I vote. I believe in tough border and vetting sanctions and restricting access to those that might enter our country illegally. We have a great nation. It can be great again with leaders that lead.
