Good Morning CGs!

Chilly here in the land of Lincoln. Speaking of Lincoln, he'd probably be turning over in his grave right about now. Although honestly I don't think politics have changed that much in a hundred years. And on that same topic my daughter is a huge fan of our 16th president. We took the kids to Springfield in the beginning of the summer. They have a very nice historic area dedicated to him. We got to tour his house. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit all the museums and other things. We plan on going back and possibly doing an overnight trip. Maybe this upcoming summer. The daughter is a huge historical fiction reading fan and loves anything having to do with history. #2 likes it as well but not as much.

Letty, hope the nose-arrhea is improving.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Been checking out some local spinal medical options. Saw two that interested me. A traditional ortho MD and the local Miracle Leaf clinic. Decision, decisions. One will prescribe anti inflammatory pain relievers, the other a compound that you may still experience pain but won't know it.

CLOUDY AND COLDISH IN THE NATIONS, NOT SO GLOOMY AS IT HAS BEEN. SLEPT IN THIS MORNING, UNUSUAL FOR ME. NOTHING ON THE AGENDA TODAY BUT A FEW ERRANDS, I THINK IT WILL BE DRY ENOUGH TO DRIVE THE TOMATO.

TALKED TO BABY DAUGHTER ON THE PHONE YESTERDAY, #8 GRANDSON HAS HAD A BIG "GROWTH SPURT" IN ENGLISH AND HAS BECOME AN AVID READER AT THE "SEE SPOT RUN" LEVEL. THEY ARE MARCHING ALONG ON THE HOUSE MOVE, MAY NEED A BOOST FROM THE PARENTS BANK & TRUST :-)

It was a half hearted attempt at humor. Thinking treatment with CBD/THC compounds. They claim it helps ease pain. I'm thinking it's worth a try. Opiods and neuro drugs don't last long with me. 4 hours tops. Their effect is similar to what you referenced. They only mask pain. Surgery is usually a last resort with back pain. I'm not going to even think about cortisone injections. A daily Swedish massage might be beneficial.

Wow...that really works.... nice!

I had a cortisone shot on each side of my lower back a year ago or so now and for about a week it was just like the good old days..... once again I could dance and be popular......... then it all wore off...... and I am back to being an old man.....

Hey guys, Yea, Gris, you may be right. Got up at normal time, but was on the road northwest to sisters house before 8. Got there and unloaded the tools and waited for nephew to get there to help me haul the tub down the basement. I told sis, my plan was to finish the electrical (installing 3 lights) and doing some figuring of materials and figuring how/what to do some finishing/trim things. Nephew showed up and helped me install the lights. I had power from a receptacle we removed where the tub was going, and fished it over to where the light needed to be for the utility portion of the closet. Then we needed to fish a wire through 2 joists spaces to run the switch leg. Drilled a few holes through little access points and fished the wire over and was able to hook up the switch. Then fish a couple more wires from the one light to the other two. He pulls out another light from the box and asks if I had someplace for this one. I told him I had bought three boxes thinking there was just one light in each box and that there ended up being two in each box, so, no I didn't have anyplace to go with that one. So he talked about replacing the one in the adjacent room. So I pull the fixture down and the freaking mess of wires there was unbelievable. After assessing the situation I came up with a plan/solution. Putting the one light in that room was tougher than the three lights in the closet/utility area. After that I said, "We still have two lights left" So we moved to the next room over and removed the one, one bulb fixture that was in there and was able to put the two LEDs, spread out in the same joist space and about quadrupled (at least) the light in the room. I have some holes to repair in the ceiling now, but that's a small price to pay for the increase in light. Sis is more than thrilled. Now we have to wait until the plumber comes back and install the tub, then I will go back and start hanging sheetrock.

A friend of mine had back surgery in December, he told me he wished he had done it sooner...but it didn't help his hip, so he had a total hip replacement earlier this month. Not saying you should have the surgery, but don't count it out totally.

WOW JOHN, ARE YOU ABOUT DONE? I REMAIN IN AWE OF YOUR OUTPUT.

JUST FINISHED A DEPRESSING BIOGRAPHY OF LIGHT HORSE HARRY LEE. A MAN THAT HAD IT ALL, INTELLIGENCE, BIRTH, FAMILY, TALENT, A BORN SOLDIER, CHARISMATIC LEADER, REVOLUTIONARY WAR HERO. LACK OF BUSINESS SENSE AND CHARACTER FLAWS RENDERED HIM TOTALLY UNSUITED FOR CIVILIAN LIFE AND HE DIED AN EXILED PAUPER. A SAD STORY FIT FOR SOPHOCLES.

THE CLASSIC BACK SURGERY VERDICT: A THIRD GET BETTER, A THIRD, GET WORSE, A THIRD REMAIN THE SAME. NOT GOOD ODDS, BUT IF YOU HURT BAD ENOUGH THEY COULD BEGIN TO LOOK GOOD.

THIS WAS TRUE BACK WHEN I WAS IN THE REHAB BUSINESS; RESULTS MAY HAVE IMPROVED SINCE THEN.
