OVERCAST AND COOL IN THE NATIONS---AGAIN. HAD A LITTLE LIGHT RAIN OVERNIGHT; THE CHEROKEES LONG FOR DRY WEATHER AND SUNSHINE.

NOTHING GOING ON AROUND HERE, WE ARE INCHING BACK TO NORMAL, IN SPITE OF THE NATIONAL SOCIALISTS AND THE PC PURITANS WHO WANT TO KEEP THE ECONOMY IN THE TANK.

AND IN THE NEWS:

Swiss sex workers have drawn up a list of rules which they say minimises the risk of transmitting coronavirus---sex positions which allow for a safe distance between faces, such as 'doggy style' and 'reverse cowgirl', are advisable. ---

RATHER COMPULSIVE PEOPLE THE SWISS, DARE I SAY ANAL? :-)

Good Morning CGs!

Happy birthday, John!

Illinois is still behind as far as opening things up. It's a sore subject for many because Wisconsin and Indiana are basically open and you can go to restaurants, hair salons, etc. And our fat hypocrite governor is on the news criticizing residents who leave the state to enjoy those services. Oh well.

Hope everyone has a great day!

It appears that Illinois must be taking cues from the Swiss.

Happy Revolution Day John. Living one revolution at a time.

2020 seems to have a lot in common with Passover this year.
The 7 plagues. Blood, frogs, lice, wild beasts, cattle disease, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the slaying of the firstborn. Hopefully you have spread lamb's blood by you entry door. We must be due for an eclipse.

"In order to protect their first-born children, the Israelites marked their doors with lamb's blood so the angel of death would pass over them."

It is obvious they did not have a business investment conglomerate in the olden days or there would have been an 8th plague. The crashing of the stock market.

The old adage "History repeats itself." seems to come into play a few times during one's lifetime if one is graced with living a long and fruitful life. That's why I think older people don't get so rattled by world events. "Been there. Done that." Today's generation in America seems to be gifted with a much softer version of catastrophic events. It's a crazy world out there. .... Just look at our leadership. .... I now yield to the gentleman from Oklahoma. .....hang on a bit......still looking up "reverse Cowgirl".....
........oh....OH....Oh MY!....... ok quickly moving on....

They called and said the Grand Sport would be done on Friday...and so on the advice of Tommy I looked into renting a car in Lincoln and taking it up Soo Falls to pick up da car. Turns out Enterprise has a nice mid size car they will rent to me for $36.41 and they will pick it up at the shop the Corvette is being worked on in SF. Very nice! So we will pick up the rental on Friday morning and travel north and hopefully the GS will make it home with no problems...

I of course will not exceed the speed limits or have any episodes of excessive acceleration......

Meanwhile I must get back to work....... to uh pay for some things...... like excessive acceleration......

Happy Birthday John!
In looking past over the last few days I've missed seems y'all have had about the weather we've had. 15 days straight of forecast rain starting last Friday. Ended up with a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunatey, as per usual in my world, all h*ll broke loose on every front. Slowly trying to get all the issues under control from pool, to heat and air unit, to family, etc.
Tommy, my grandparents weathered more catastrophic events and as a kid living with them, I took up their ways. I am not much one to waste, I have leftovers, I use worn out towels for dishcloths after cutting them down, or they'll become shop rags, I try to be thrifty and when this "pandemic" hit (one of the words on my list I'm sick of hearing) life didn't really change for me that much. I bought up some TP but not hoarded it but heck we have 3 bathrooms in the house so it takes a bit to stock those. I "make due" with things often. Some of the freaking out I have seen locally just blows my mind. Can't fix stupid I guess. I just get up and turn off MSM and carry on with my day.
Gotta get back to the work, have a pile on my desk. Y'all have a good afternoon.

THERE ARE ISLANDS OF INTELLIGENCE OUT THERE BUT THEY ARE INUNDATED BY FLOODS OF INANE SILLINESS PRODUCED BY THE MEDIA AND THEIR POLITICAL MASTERS. REALITY CONTACT HAS BEEN STEADILY WHITTLED AWAY SINCE THE NATIONAL SCHIZOPHRENIC BREAK IN 1965. THE KUNG FLU SEEMS TO HAVE ACCELERATED THE PLUNGE INTO FANTASY. THE “BRAVE NEW WORLD” IS HERE.

I HAVE LONG THOUGHT HUMAN BEINGS CAN DEAL WITH EVERYTHING BUT PROSPERITY.

Took the 50th Anniversary convertible out earlier this afternoon—it is somewhat of a birthday tradition. We didn't go far, but more than the "around the block" I had initially claimed; perhaps three miles. That car continues to generate more smiles than any other I have ever owned, and it came through again for me today.

Letty, I grew up in poverty but I didn't know it. My mother pulled and stretched everything to raise 6 kids. She was a WW II victim living in Europe at the time running from the Russians and the Germans. She once told me she had the greatest respect for a penny. She didn't even have 2 cents to take the bus home from her work. She used to bathe with her girlfriend in the bathhouse renting the tub for an hour and doing her laundry at the same time. My older sister was born in a labor camp. I was fortunate to be born in the U.S. in 1955. My mom got into the country being married to a veteran, my father. I was struggling financially up to my 40's. A sick wife, a sick child and later my second wife going through medical issues most of her adult life. I'm not whining or complaining. I learned to make lemonade early in life. I always had a roof over my head and food on the table. I've been broke more times than I care to remember. In that whole time I was only unemployed for about a month of my entire life. Life is full of surprises. Through it all I can say "Life is good.".

Geez there is some well written words on here today.... I did not grow up in the depression era or the WW II years... I am a classic Boomer....born in 1950.... My parents saw hard times and we didn't have a lot of money but we had an everyday pair of shoes and Sunday Shoes...we had a couple of pair of 501 Levies Mom would get at Woolworth's for like 6 bucks a pair.... we never missed a meal. Typical 50's family where Dad went to work and Mom stayed home to raise the kids and keep house....

Then along the way it all changed..... My Dad used to say it all started when Kennedy got elected.... whatever caused the break back in the Mid 60's was when it broke like Gris says..... pretty sure it was that damn rock and roll music that helped the anarchy along.... we did not know luxury...

My kids have had it good....to good maybe.....does not every generation want their kids to have it better? So here we are........ I hope it's working out for us.....

Happy Birthday John..... I'm now raising a bottle of Diet A&W Root Beer in your direction..... here is to many more...

Also just in the Grand Sport Quicksilver is done and ready for me to pick up on Friday.... with the Methanol injection it made 609 to the rear wheels....... on about 7 lbs of boost....... Holy Mother of Pearl..... I gots to be careful........

Hey guys...another busy day. Got up about 8 and by 8:30 was out the door down to the neighbors' house to help him load up some stuff on a trailer that he is taking to their mountain cabin in New Mexico. By the time I was done there it was time for me to go to the house where I was installing the balustrade. Applied some painters caulk and installed the top handrail. then cut the bottom rails to fit. Then did the math to figure the spacing of the balusters. Back to the shop to drill the holes for the dowels on the bottom of the balusters. Take it all back and get the balusters installed. GS #3 helping me.

It has been a really nice day, a bit breezy, but mid 70s for a high.

I hope your day has been a good one, John. Marcus, that's more than enough power to get you in trouble.

We grew up poor too....I never realized it, because, like Tommy and Marcus, we had clothes on our back and food on the table. But frills were never around. Looking back, yea I can see it, but I never let it affect me. Yes, we want more for our kids than what we had, our kids have had to work for what they have received. Rosie and I have done OK for ourselves, due to hard work, making good choices (mostly), and being very lucky. There were times we didn't have money in the bank and big bills hit us, we just had to figure it out...... Today, I wouldn't classify us as extremely rich (financially...spiritually yes), but we have reasonable retirements and will be OK.
