CLEAR, CALM, AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, BUT THAT WON'T LAST LONG.

THE ARKANSAS ANABASIS WENT WELL, SORT OF. DIL'S KUNG FLU PARANOIA IS DRIVING THE KIDS NUTS.

NOTHING ON THE AGENDA TODAY, DNBFS :-)

Cool this morning, but a bit humid. Looking at highs near 100 today.

A little work in the shop is on tap. And an early stop so we can go to Rosie's dads' place. And the wedding tomorrow.

Stay cool, my friends!

A friend of mine just sent a pic from his yard. I think his rich daddy (also a friend) might have something to do with it.

Same here.

We took a short trip to Longwood Gardens today—we're members and they recently re-opened for us.

It was lovely, of course—but I think we would have stayed longer if it hadn't been (so far) the hottest day of the year. The joke between Ivelis and I is that she always schedules our visits to the gardens for the widest weather extremes. A couple of years ago she scheduled a visit on her birthday: in the low teens with a biting wind. Today, 97 degrees.

That'll do just fine.

Well, we made it to Rosie’s dads place. Didn’t get away as early as we had thought.

While working in the shop the lady, with the new house, stopped by to tell me the carpet layers would be there late in the week, and did I want to hang the doors and trim before that? Well, ah, YES! So I told I’d start on Monday morning, but Tuesday, I was helping my neighbor run some concrete, so I’d come over Tuesday after I finished with that.... Looks to be a busy week.

We didn’t quite make it to the century mark today, only 98, darn! NOT!! It is a very comfortable 82 right now at FILs house.

Isn't it amazing how we adjust? Some light to medium rain came through and dropped us down into the low 80s. Ivelis and I stood on the front stoop, listened to the rain, and watched the fireflies. "Oh, that's nice!"
