Good Morning CGs!

Another hot day here.

TB, must be something in the air because my friend's 60 gallon compressor got a hole in the bottom yesterday, as well. He bought a new one, hope yours gets worked out.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well after much searching and trying to find a direct short that kept taking out the dash and turn signals we found it in the wire bundle that goes to the back of the car on the 56... it was driving me nuts for awhile.... but after tracing down every wire we found that where the back seat folds over to make it bigger in the back it was rubbing on the wires and had exposed the bare wires.....causing the short and popping a couple of fuses...... Teeb hates plumbing and I hate wiring...... got it fixed and now everything works on the 56...... knocking on wood as I say that...

gotta mow today and work on the shop.... and nap..... have a good one guys and gals....

Hey guys.....Well, the new compressor is working out ok. It doesn't recover quite as fast as the old one, but it is quiet and it does produce air.

Finished spraying some finish this morning. Then hung a shelf.

We are hosting #2 GSs 19th birthday party this afternoon. He requested smoked ribs, so I threw those on the pellet grill and am getting some other things done.

Besides the BD party, HS graduation is this afternoon, there is a wedding of a daughter of a friend and Prom (#3 GS is going to that after the BD party. And I'm down to read at church, which by the way, I need to go shower ....

I hope all of you are having/had a great day.

Marcus, be glad it was wiring on a 56 not a newer vehicle.
There must be 100 miles of wire in new cars. Not to mention all the wired sensors and accessories.

BIL and Sis stopped in foe the weekend They wanted a change of scenery.

Good quality photo there Gris.

And U-man, I feel your pain on the electrical gremlins. Like Tommy sez, be glad it’s on a ‘56, and not on something new.
On my 1st Vette, a ‘68 vert, I was at a mall and came out to find it wouldn’t start, and had nothing but headlights. I got it home and started trying to diagnose the issue and it bafffled me for 4 months. It would start and run, but if I turned on the headlights it died with only headlights working. Let it sit a few days and it would start again, until the headlights came on. Finally after having done an unsuccessful marathon on it to find the issue, a day or two later I found that disconnecting the bulkhead connector and re-connecting it did things come back on, until I turned on the headlights. Out of just plain luck, I went to Radio Shack and got a can of “tuner cleaner” for TVs. I sprayed the crap out of both halves of the b’head connector, fastened it back together and started the car. Then tried turning on the headlights and it stayed running. So just by being thorough about my connections I fixed the issue and was able to drive my Vette again after dark. Again, it took about 4 months To figure it out.
