Good luck with the hearing aids, Gris. At some point, I should look into them as well. Too much rock-n-roll.

Here at the palacial double-wide, we were all set to get the drain line from the house to the sewer replaced, but nothing’s that easy. Our digger got here and found the utility markings showing that a gas main runs thru my back yard, right in our path. So, now I’ve got to find a contractor that’s got the proper equipment for this kind of work. Fortunately, we’re not in an emergency situation. This is all pre-emptive, so I have some time to get it taken care of.
The adventure continues...

Good morning from Tebbetts,MO.
Been here since late Friday night, came up to work on the 68 Vette then onto a ‘95 Rustang, brought up a Marlin Model 60 for him we picked up at home - none to be had here where they were. Snake shooter to keep in their side by side. Nice and peaceful here , did some flea market shopping .
Gris good luck on the hearing aids, Tommy glad Sue is ok. Vehicles can be fixed. Marcus good luck with the spinal solutions.

Claim filed. Body shop selected. 100% guaranteed and $500 out of pocket for us. State Farm. If I'm not happy they'll know about it. It's got the White Diamond Tri-Coat paint (pearl). Matching it will be fun. I'll be all over it when they go to give it back. Looks like if Sue had about 6 inches more space she would have got away clean. Mainly front bumper and driver side fender (damaged when bumper buckled). Lots of shifting in the front cap. About 1/4 " I can see it in the gaps. I looked at a replacement 2020 last night. 60 g's plus tax would put it in my driveway. ;) I have a thing about driving tight bodied vehicles. lol

Good Morning CGs!

Tommy, glad the wife is ok. Cars can be fixed easier than people. Just don't tell Sue you were looking at a 2020 replacement for her....it would cost you way more than 60 Gs. Probably a few nights in the hospital, too.

VB - that looks like a place I'd like to be right now.

Been driving the Vette. Really need to do those motor mounts one of these days, I know I'd enjoy it more. I also have a new backup camera and mirror to install. One day.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Well, after taking another look at today’s activities,
Tommy, I’m glad Sue’s ok. Probably a bit frightened at the time, but I’m sure that’ll wear off. Again, glad she’s ok.

Good afternoon, all.

Tom, we're glad Sue is okay.

All the way back east, we smell no smoke, but there was one day when the sun was a striking orange. Well north of us in upstate New York, I have reports of a smoky smell.

Gris, was that 105 mm/120 mm that caused the hearing loss? When I was in the Navy, they put a lot of trouble into limiting the damage—having us wear foam in the ears and "Mickey Mouse" over the ears. At least for me, it worked.

PARTIALLY FROM TANK RANGES, PARTIALLY FROM THE VC TAX COLLECTOR THAT TRIED TO THROW A GRENADE IN MY SHIRT POCKET IN 1967. HE DIDN'T QUITE MAKE IT BUT CLOSE DOES COUNT WITH HAND GRENADES. I WAS DOWN ON BOTH KNEES BEHIND A SAMPAN AND THE BLAST STRETCHED ME OUT FLAT ON MY BACK.

THE 105MM ON THE M60'S WAS NOT AS LOUD AS THE 90MM WITH TRANSVERSE MUZZLE BREAK ON THE M48 SERIES. IT WOULD LIFT A STEEL POT RIGHT OFF YOUR HEAD IF YOU WERE TOO CLOSE BEHIND IT.
TROUBLE WITH RANGES IS IF YOU WERE OIC OR SAFETY OFFICER ESPECIALLY, YOU COULDN'T GET TOO MUCH INTO EARPLUGS AS YOU HAD TO HEAR ANY ALARM OR "CEASE FIRE" CALL.

NO NEW HEARING AIDS. THEY CLEANED UP AND TUNED THE OLD ONES, WE'LL SEE HOW THAT WORKS---THEY WON'T GIVE YOU NEW ONES BUT EVERY FOUR YEARS. PRETTY DAMN CHINTZY I'D SAY. BUT NOTHING'S TOO GOOD FOR THE TROOPS, AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT THEY CAN EXPECT:-)

TOMMY, GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CAR REPAIR ADVENTURE, SURE GLAD SUE IS OK.

Suburban pics. In the last pic there is some white from the grazing she took from the cut off car. Might be too hard to see.

Hey guys, pretty active discussion today.

What do you guys say? I didn't hear you..... My loss came from woodworking tools... not sure where that came from.

Tommy, I think they do a really good job matching the paint with modern technology.

Enjoy your time away, Letty.

My 'simple' cabinet mod turned into a bigger job. The one that had to come out didn't cooperate very well, then the owners decided they wanted to move some other cabinets "While you are here'. Loaded up the one I needed to modify and headed home. By noon I had the upper cabinet done. worked on the base in the afternoon. About 5:30 the owners called me and asked if, instead of, making the upper cabinet 32" tall, could I make it 26"...sure I can do that....so I spent a couple hours this evening cutting it down again.

time for bed....

I hear you guys about hearing aids. I told Sue that if she can't see me I can't hear her. She doesn't listen. Usually waits till I'm across the house to say something.
