Merry Christmas, all.

My alma mater yesterday evening:

https://www.saintthomaschurch.org/even ... tivity-rite-i-2020-12-24/

Some drama last night, and not Santa on the roof. High winds and heavy rain, with a high of 65,000 homes without power in the area. The local utility has it down to under 40,000 at this point, but it's no way to welcome Christmas Day.

Ivelis and I don't do a lots of gifts for each other, but she does do the Hallmark vehicle ornaments thing every year. Here's this year's haul. In order:

1955 Pearlescent White Lincoln Futura show car (what George Barris based the original Batmobile on)

1966 Red with White trim Chevrolet C10 Fleetside pickup truck with a tan vinyl bench seat

1970 Fathom Blue Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS coupe with a white vinyl top and black vinyl Strato-bucket seats (no hint at what engine it has)

1970 Lime Light Plymouth Superbird coupe with a black viny top and a black vinyl bench seat (engine could be either a 426 Hemi or a 440 Super Commando)

John. You and Ivelis are on the right path when it comes to affordable collectibles. Low maintenance. Easy storage. no insurance requirements.

Matt, hope your family are firmly in the grips of recovery.

I'm am sorry for all my past transgressions. I'm a better man now having experienced the pain and suffering of sin. I know I've been good. No more coal in MY stockings.

The other day I read of what had become of the disciples after the death of Christ. Real people whose theological footprints are still evident today in the regions they preached and beyond. Many think that God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are fairy tale characters. If you have ever had a Christian spiritual experience, you know the depths of what a man or woman might endure and not renounce their faith. These are not necessarily Godless times but a time when many shun organized religion.

Back to the commercial Christmas. Jump in the sleigh and load it up with gifts with little or no heartfelt meaning. Jewelry, new cars, video games, the latest technology, gift cards, fruit cakes and the list goes on. Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus Lane. In my childhood home you got underwear and socks for Christmas.

Anyway. Have a glorious Christmas Day or just another Saturday for those that choose.

Christmas Eve casino update. We played, had dinner, then played some more. Outcome for the night was a modest $200 on the upside. Up is good.

Hey guys, got up early and headed to FIL house 2 1/2 hours away. Been a pretty day here. 61 now, so we got to sit outside and see a bunch of the nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Dad really enjoyed seeing them.

We will head home after while. It was such a nice day, we drove the Corvette.
