I WENT TO VIETNAM ON THE BUDDY SYSTEM---ME AND 5,000 CLOSE FRIENDS ON THE SAME BOAT :-)

The buddy system was a creative way to get more recruits. I was an early volunteer just after they eliminated the draft. I pissed off a lot of families because of me they lost their boys to the military. I had planned to go into the military after high school. The Air Force was always my first choice because I love everything about aircraft. The Army, Marines and Air Force all had recruiting offices on the same floor. The Air Force recruiter was the last office all the way down the hall. 4 of my budies joined the Air Force. 2 stopped into the Marine recruiter to have a chat with him and joined.

Our mothers are on the back row. I'm on the left. My buddy Jay is next to me, then Gary, and Paul is on the right. These were the Air Force boys gathering and soon to depart.

CLEAR AND 58 DEGREES IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING, THE WIND WILL GET UP THEY SAY. A BLISTERING 73 DEGREES IS PREDICTED, THE CHEROKEES ARE OK WITH THAT :-)

AUTO ROTATION DAY, THE TOMATO WILL BE UP, MIGHT EVEN PUT THE TOP DOWN. SEVERAL ERRANDS TO RUN, NOTHING MAJOR ON THE AGENDA, BUT A VERY NICE DAY FOR IT.

Hey guys, busy day. a trip to the 'city' for groceries. Then back to spray finish on the face frames. And then off to look at 5 different jobs. I fixed 3 of them, bugged out of two. Came out and finished up spraying the finish.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day and I will be helping my friend finish up the gable ends on his house.
