Rough day yesterday. Sue is resting right now. Had to go the the ER last night with her. Terrible migraine. They did a CT scan of her head and said no discrepancies. She has a plate on the left side of her head and she insisited it shifted. Anyway, the CT scan was worth the price of admission. She's drugged up and sleeping right now. During the surgery her tongue got a scrape and she got scratches on her left cornea. She was pissed. Go in for one thing and come out with two other things. Then the migraine made three. Oh well. On the road to recovery.

100% agree on that photo. Society is too concerned with appeasing folks than often worrying about what is right to fit an agenda. It needs to stop. Whoppie needs cancelled. Just like they did Roseann. Good for goose is good for gander.
Still nice and warm today, rainy and overcast. Temps drop considerably tonight and then tomorrow night the storm starts. We had a devastating ice storm in 2009 and the weather gurus are telling us that it'll be about half of that. I mean we just had a tornado we don't need this. We have a generator but not what we need. There's none to be had here as the tornado depleted supplies. My cousin has the one I need and I have one that would work good for her, we need to swap and I'd glady give her $$ too but she's an ass and we're not speaking.
Waiting on a call from the Generac folks to put a permanent one at the house.
Work is waiting, catch ya later

I got a quote for my house and it came in at about 23k with an in the ground LP gas tank. I passed. Just not enough major outaghes to justify that expense. Plus they have to be maintained. Take a look at the biggest mobiles because generally generators are short term use. I have a diesel 6500 and another gas 2500. No heat, A/C, range or dryer use. Nothing on 220 but I can run all my 110 stuff. Fridges freezers, fans. The rest is like being on a big camping trip with a gas grill but we have TV and a nice bed.

Morning guys... woke up to snow, on the ground and still coming down and blowing. 15 degrees, looking for low 20s today, which will sound good compared to tomorrow.

I agree with the photo as well, Gris. What happened to "If it ain't broke, why fix it?"

Work in the shop today.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Worked late last night so got home and did the snow around 4 am. Wife and kids did it again at 9 and I did it again at 11. 9 inches so far according to the official reports. Wife is on call so I can't take her SUV to do mom's house. Her boyfriend is coming over later to do that.

Hope Sue feels better, Tommy.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Just got our Generac quote - 8500 installed for permanent natural gas generator. That will run our entire house they say. I'm more worried about us having heat and the pool pumps and pipes and crap freezing. Gotta think on that one. I also am looking at one of these:

Letty, I think I would go with a Generac permanently installed for that price. With an automatic transfer switch? For the outlay and inconvenience of the HF generators, that money could go toward the Generac. You'd get a lot more for your money with a whole house generator. And it would be a good selling point. ;)

Im in as far as selling point on the house goes. However, there's only about one time a year that you need one here so that's my drawback and lean toward the HF kind. The whole house one would run the whole house and it would be an automatic on if power went out.
And, our "winter storm' got moved up to - 20 mimutes- from now instead of the previously mentioned midnight. Our town is on the divider line (where it says Jonesboro, AR) of sleet and freezing rain. Temps have gone from 60 to 33 just in the last couple hours.

I tried to upload a photo to illustrate this and got the error "protector detects attacking actions) ???

I have a HF generator. Looked at a whole house and it came in at $12k...I just couldn't justify that. We've only needed something like that three times since we built the house 36 years ago. So far we've only had about 4" of the white stuff. But it is coming down horizontally.
