i wiped it down, put fresh anti-froze in it, and went for a spin, pullled over a couple times and checked stuff, the fan isn't working, it was caught up on the shroud somehow, so i think the motor is gone

Sounds like you got some quirks to work out. Is the shroud bolted securely?

there is a leak at the thermostat housing, it's a bad seal. the fan motor is shot
i had the car hooked up to a computer, maf is fine, o2 sensor is fine. fan not coming on, so we went and found the relay, which was broken and barely together. off of that we found a fuseable link, blown. we bypassed it, and the fan turned, slowly, and was drawing amps like mad, so bad motor. looks like when my parts get here, i'll be busy. i hope i can get this all done before carlisle, i hate to take the truck there

Im not familiar with what youd normally pay for that kind of diagnostic work, but $10 USD sounds like "mates rates" to me!! I dont think you could ever get such a bargain anywhere else!!!
