Carneys | (PA) Emissions failed.... | ||

Hi All....I'm a new Corvette owner and just had the misfortune of having my '85 miserably fail Pennsylvania emissions. Please bear with me on these forums, I'm FAR from being a mechanic (fortunately, my brother-in-law is one and is helping me out alot!). My understanding is that if I put $150 into emissions repairs, they will let you slide. The car runs beautifully and we haven't noticed any performance issues...we did install new platinum spark plugs/wires, serpentine belt, and gave it an oil change but that's about it. Any quick suggestions on getting this beast to pass? :roll:
Thanks! -Rob |

what failed? Hydrocarbons? EGR? CO2?
On one your vintage, it could be cats... my bigger concern, with PA, is that the engine didn't get hot enough to pass. I would dump a bottle of "Smog Chek" into the tank and be done with it. |

One option may be putting Collector plates on your car. It was the solution for my '85.
I'm in NW Pa. with no more cats (and some other missing components) Perminent registration For vehicles over 15 years old Annual safety inspection still required Not supposed to be used for daily drivers |
