Goo morn.

Cool and crisp outside this morning. Started off mid 60's and headed to mid 80's with reduced humidity here in the tropics. Having lived in Florida for 44 years my blood has lost it's tolerance for cold weather but I can get used to it gradually. I also have a closet full of clothes that can handle temps from 0* to 100+*. Comes in handy when we go to Alaska where we often woke up to the 40's. Haven't been around snow in awhile nor do I look forward to it. It all goes back to 1978 when I came down for Christmas to visit the inlaws. After opening presents we laid around the pool and jumped in every once in awhile. Fired up the bbq and lounged around drinking adult beverages in the afternoon. It was then that I had the reckoning that I could get used to this. Through the years I learned to suffer the Florida summers to get to treat of Florida winters. People of means have figured out how to escape the summer and return for the winter. Hence the name snowbirds. The snowbirds have returned. Unfortunately millions of others have found out the secret I learned back in 78 and flocked to Florida to live year round. Now overcrowded and laying the natural habitat and farmland to waste, this once beautiful sanctuary is now littered with housing developments and shopping centers. Some call it progress. I say it's getting progressively worse. Wow ..... Where did all that come from?

THE COUNTY SEAT OF THE SMALLEST COUNTY IN TEXAS, A SLEEPY LITTLE COTTON FARMING COMMUNITY NOW HAS THE HIGHEST PER CAPITA INCOME IN TEXAS THANKS TO THE MIGRATION OF DALLAS PLUTOCRATS.

THE ONLY CONSTANT IS CHANGE.

Huskerland is pretty much the same as it ever was....a lot less cover for the pheasants and quail since all the old farmsteads and abandoned railroad tracks have been torn out so they can farm fence line to fence line.... I can still go to the sandhills and it is the same as it was.... hard work and hardy folk keep it real out here. Progress is evident in the bigger population centers.... but Mullins and Burwell and Broken Bow and a lot of others look the same except they all have internet and cell phones now.

cloudy and warm today.... may have to go for a ride... never look back Guru's....

QUAIL SEEM TO BE VANISHING IN OKLAHOMA AND NO ONE CAN OR WILL SAY WHY FOR SURE.

TB, sorry to hear the news about your father-in-law.

Competition went ok yesterday. He was pretty nervous and wasn't aggressive during his sparring matches like I told him to be. Can't teach that, just something you're born with or you learn over time. Hopefully it will come to him. I was still proud of him for his first time and he came home with a couple of medals so he was happy.

Hey guys, up early with GGD, then off to the 'city' to finish up the bathroom.

We are headed to central Kansas tomorrow, as the wake service is at 7pm. We will stop at the funeral home to view before then, and check into our motel rooms. All three girls will be there and some of our grands.

Funeral is 10:30 Wednesday.

Tommy, we can use your 0-100 wardrobe all in one month out here...not uncommon for us.....
