Well folks, it's that time.

This years date is 6/14/08 Saturday.

We will pretty much do what we always do except I need to find a better meet point for the start.

What it is:

We will meet somewhere in New Castle,DE. Follow DE Route 9 south to Dover. From there we will travel down Route 1 to Rehoboth where we will do some go kart racing.

Then we take De Route 24 west towards Laurel and head south on Route 13 to Delmar, DE/MD.

We pig out on all you can eat crabs, shrimp and chicken.

Jersey folks will then head back to Lewes,DE to take the Cape May/Lewes Ferry back to Jersey.

This was going to be an invitation only but after thinking about it, I'm not going to do that since the folks I don't want to attend won't be over here anyway. I know I may sound as if I'm full of myself, but I really just want to keep a lot of the CF folks out of this one(except those of you that are here).

This means it will be a much smaller group, but then at least we can spend more time socializing rather than just trying to keep up on teh road.

I will post more details as the date gets closer.

Screw this! I ain't never had the crabs before and I don't want them again!

This would be some fun shit. Although It'll not likely happen this year, I'd welcome the opportunity to meet Mr. Mo and his crowd anytime. And I certainly hope it happens someday in the not too distant future.

For Jersey people it's a pretty long day, figure on 6:00am to midnight , but that doesn't include breakfast or time to get to the first meet point in Jackson.

For people north of NJ, I recommend staying at the Hampton Inn in Penns Landing(I think or it may be Pennsville) the night before. It's just north of the Del Mem Br and about 5 minutes from the meet point in New Castle,DE.

PA and DE people will have the most sleep.

IMHO you have to go to either Delaware or Md. to get good crab anything - steamed or cakes. Besides getting there is most the FUN.

Part of it is tradition. Besides NJ doesn't have all you can eat the same way. The Old Mill Crab House serves the food hot, not like buffet's that serve cold.

And yes, the ride there is the whole point. Nice twisty backroads with no traffic or cops.

This was my first outing with a bunch of Vettes ever last year. I got the chance to meet Frank(mojo) and a bunch of nice people. A group of us managed to talk the go kart track manager into letting us have the track exclusively for a half hour. There were more drivers than cars, so, we traded off drivers lemans style every few laps. It was "anything goes" while we had the track and Great Fun and bruises (Great wrecks!!!) were had by all. The Crab dinner couldn't be beat and the ride down, led by the Mojo man himself, was the most fun I've had to date in my Vette.

Set aside the date and GET HERE Gurus! You won't be sorry you did!

I just found this - Although I never have been, it sounds like a lot of fun.
I'd have to make the run by myself probably since I'd be coming from Maryland. I'll keep this date in mind.

Hi Frank,

Severn is just about half way between Annapolis and Baltimore. I am realy centraly located to the Baltimore/Annapolis/DC area and have quick access to I95, Rt.50 or any of the major arteries.

Cool, you have a couple choices.
You can take 50 east and meet us in Delmar or head to Rehoboth and meet us at the Go Karts.

Not a problem at all. I'll just need a head count for the restaurant.

When do you need a head count? Where do you start from? I have a house in LBI, would it be better to start from there or Bergen County?

Probably around the first week of June I'll be finished up planning.

Hmm, Bergen County or LBI, both ends of the state! LBI would be best for you to end at, but for the start, that's a tough one since it's an early start.
We do have people coming from Little Egg Harbor and I believe they either take the AC expressway or Route 40 west to meet up with us in DE.

I'm a little confused. Is this trip being wrapped into the trip on the "other" forum? Seems they are going to the same place on the same day and calling it a "unity" run. One way or the other I am up for some Crabs!

So... they are calling it a "unity run"...between North and South, NY and NJ? Does this just happen to be two separate events that coincidently occur simultaneously?

I am thinking the unity has everything to do with CF v. CG. Frank v. CF Admin.

But I am not sure. I will be looking forward to hearing more about it.

Look, I don't blame the membership over there for mods or managment. If we ran into them, I'd have a beer with them too. Who cares?

Anyway, Frank, please keep us posted. My biggest concern is getting my car running before the 14th, which I don't think will be the problem.

Rant over and out!

You mean they *are* welcome? Well I'm definitely not going now.

Look, I see this as an opportunity.

Here's why....and you can all agree or disagree up to you.

There's some nice guys there, it's not their fault what "managment" does or doesn't do.

If we run into the CF group, as I said above, have a dam beer with them. If you fool them into thinking we're nice guys, they might just come and stay. Now, wouldn't that be nice? If we're pricks, this just continues.

Bury the hatchet for the membership, maintain your disgust with the managment. Getting even, is living good.

I don't care if CF want's to run their own clone of Frank's run.

This is our run now. If they are competing, so be it. Frank just needs to get the reservations in so he can shut them out! Unity my ass.

As the owner of this forum you should not be throwing gas on the flames from California.
I was going to try and write a sensible reply to your post
but there is none.
You my friend are a DICK.

I am from Delaware. I have done this cruise three times over the years and enjoyed each and every one. Since you know I am blonde and my wife is Asian, you should have known that little tidbit of trivia.

I don't want to exclude anyone, but they are creating an environement where they have stolen a concept and renamed it. It's a total slap in the face of Frank and his original idea.

For many of us, the CF situation is very disheartening. I met my wife on CF and made a ton of great friends there. But in many cases, that was yanked when I was banned. I don't question the authority for the banning, just the environment that made it correct.

The good part is that many great folks followed us here. And that is truly a special and fantastic thing.

As admin, you are right, I should not fan the fire, but I was genuinely pissed when I wrote that post. Pissed because they stole an idea from a person that was very important to them at one point... the same person who was so uncerimoniously canned when he no longer fit into their plan.

Fair enough but you are only hearing 1 side of the story.
I have been to approx 8 of The Crab trip runs, and I was
not invited until after the Unity Run was posted.
Other people had recieved their invitations weeks before.
And I also attended Frank and his lovely brides wedding.
How am I supposed to tell a friend I am going on the Crab Trip that you went on last year but you cant come this year
because Frank says so.
The unity run was supposed to be exactly what it means to Unite everyone again. If 80 people showed up there was only 1 person who was going to have a problem.
That person should let the past be the past and move forward.Everyone else is ready to do so.
We would still welcome Frank with open arms.
Just thought you should hear both sides.
Thanks for your time.

Geez, you are reading way too much into things... At the same time, I am having some issue in understanding where your example is going. So I will take a stab at it.

I never said anyone else could or could not go (and neither has Frank, the the best of my knowledge). Far from it. If someone wants to go, enjoy, have a great time, hand out CG static clings. Additionally, I would never forbid anyone from going, that would be absurd.

I would be more in support of the unity cruise if I felt it was really aiming at unifying the groups. Considering it sounds like you are on the outside, the delayed invite and all, I wonder exactly how motivated they are to unify this situation.

From where I sit, I am still permabanned. No amount of unity cruises is going to fix that. So I guess my perspective is just a little different.
