Good Morning CGs!

Weather took a bit of a turn on the cool side. Beautiful during the day but a little chill at night. Had to drive home with the top up last night, what a shame.

Wife's SUV needs brakes so I ordered a set off of Rock Auto. Those are sitting in the box and ready to go on when I get some time. Hopefully this week.

I have to get the mustang over to my mom's house to store it for the winter (outside). She's got more room than I do so it makes sense.

Hope everyone has a great day!

On voting. When the choice is between a shit sandwich or a hot cup of puke I'm gonna either do a write in vote or vote for an Independent or Other candidate. There is pretty much no way I can or will vote for either popular party candidate. Call it a protest vote, a wasted vote or whatever you want. That's my vote. Has nothing to do with popularity. It has to do with integrity and values. Neither candidate meets my wants, needs or guidelines. That being said, I will suffer under whomever is selected knowing they are both a

Dateline 10/8/24. 07:30 AM.

I'm in a deeeep sleeep when suddenly. RING ...... RING. I stumbled out of bed with pain in my left arm at a vaccine injection site, stiff as board and in my regular wake up aches and pains. Sue says "I need your help". She was dropping off some trees towing a trailer and the trailer axle broke on the right rear wheel. I hadn't had any coffee or sat in the reading room yet . I quickly do both. Next load up the jack, jack stands and assorted tools. She thought it was just a flat. Nope. We head back and pick up another trailer, transfer the trees and call AAA for a tow for the trailer. I keep trailer tow insurance for just this type of event. Not too bad. Had everything done in less than two hours. Whoo Hoo! Not the way I like to start my day but I'm sure for some ... They had it worse.

Milton is gonna be a m'er f'er. My sister is in an evacuation zone but tells me she is going to stay. I think it's a mistake but like most family members, they never listen. She lives in a block house with impact windows and is miles back from the coast. My niece owns a daycare school just up the street and is on higher ground. They can always go there if they choose. I have other friends and family that live in the projected impact area. All I can say is a hurricane of that magnitude is no fun. I know. I hunkered down through Hurricane Andrew and it destroyed our home. Took the shingles off the roof, everything got soaked. I can still remember my block walls breathing in and out. Knocked down every tree for miles. My friend lost his whole roof. He wound up in a bedroom on a bed with mattresses pulled over him, his wife and son. A foot of water on the floor. I remember hundreds of horror stories and the years it took to rebuild afterwards. My deceased sister's name was Helene. Milton is the name of one of Sue's deceased relatives. Coincidence? I think not.

I have a friend that lives in Milton. I dread seeing this go through especially when they're not done rescuing folks from the last one, it tore up half the country. This one is liable to split Florida in half. Tornadoes here have devastation like that, never know when one will fall out of the sky. I feel for the folks that have to endure either one, lose folks, lose all their stuff they worked hard for and the memories, then trying to rebuild, unimaginable.
I posted on the Pensacola beach groups hoping to find out what might have happened to my nephew there that was found dead. Post is being shared, tons of good comments, locals that had him as a server, etc, made me cry. I just want to find out who left him lay there like that.
Y'all have a good evening, I just finished making supper, Arron should be in the door any minute
