Been AWOL this week. Trying to finish a job 25 miles from town.

Monday morning, got a text message from Rosies' first cousin that her aunt had passed (89 years old). Rosies' dads' sister, only one brother left now of 10 siblings. So we try to gauge the rest of the week by that. Find out the wake service is Wednesday evening back in central Kansas and funeral Thursday morning. So, I decide to quit working at noon and head out for the wake service shortly thereafter. Stayed the night with a niece and her family. Went to the funeral and drove home.

Had calls to go look at a couple other jobs when we got home, so did that after unloading the suitcase. Then yesterday back out to the job 25 miles from town. Got asked by the general contractor to trim out the windows and doors..."Sure we can do that."

This morning as I was writing this post, the homeowners called me asking "Why did you trim these windows like this?" Sounded unhappy so I told them I'd come right out. So this post is an interrupted writing. I hurried out and put the fire out and just got back. I had to educate them about replacement windows vs new construction window details. They wanted the windows trimmed out just like the replacement windows in the rest of the house... disaster diverted.

Hope everyone here has a great rest of your Saturday.

Good afternoon, mid 70s and sunny here, perfect day, pretty peaceful here, Arron working, funeral stuff over with, thinking I might just nap. I wanted to be cleaning in here and outside getting stuff done but sometimes you just need a do nothing day. We'll see what tomorrow brings. So sorry for your loss, Tee.

...did anyone catch the number on that Indiana bus that just ran over our beloved Huskers? holy moly..... back to square 1 looks like.....

The kids over in the Star City are moving into their new to them home they bought.... I went over early and did what I could till my back said .... no more! so then I sat around telling other folks what to do.... the good thing is the house they bought is just across the street from the house they rent now..... makes it a bit easier but everything has to be picked up and moved across the street.... they are excited and have a lot more room now....

also due to some insider trading they knew the house was for sale and worked the deal without the house being listed with a Realter... Nice place stick built back in the 40's but all new kitchen and the wiring and plumbing have all been upgraded along the way.....

run towards the fire Guru's.....
