Good afternoon - cold and gloomy here with rain, I've been bombarded since I got here. Just sat my bag down, and my food, didn't even get to go put that in the fridge and I've been pestered since then. Finally caught a break a bit ago and got to eat my dinner and still covered up. Plus owner and installer is dealing with an Auntie Annie food truck dude, he's an ass. He wanted me up here on my off day to measure his truck. All fine and well but I need to clear that with the owner here before I just show up for the day to wait on him. I'm self employed/contracted so if I come here, someone is getting a bill and I'll expect to be paid. I'm not just some employee you can dictate when I am here. If I'm not here, I have other things going on so I can let you know when I'm available. I will make room for you but I need some notice. I tried to be as professional and nice to the guy as I could when I told him I'd need to make arrangements with the owner but which day did he prefer so I can get scheduling figured out, this Monday or next? he said he'd call and let me know then he called the owner to bitch claiming we "got into an argument". Now he has his quote and is demanding a certain price. Sorry jackass, it costs what it costs. Today is the day I can't stand people. Ugh.

...it seems to me your kind of work is like a magnet to un-nice people.... although I have noticed a marked decline in patience and politeness.... it seems we all are on edge all the time these days.... I fully blame the democrats for everything that is wrong in the world.... once you have someone to blame you start to feel better...

I have has some real assholes in here. Mostly thought I have wonderful clients that I enjoy visiting with. But, all it takes is one to ruin the day. I do agree, there has been a marked uptick in attitude with the general public the last few years, entitlement, greed and just mob mentality hatefulness with a light trigger.

Hey guys, busy day here. Woke up at a little after nine, Rosie didn't get home until almost 1 so didn't get to bed until almost 1:30am.

Jumped out of bed and headed to the shop to cut the hole in the countertop for the sink. Got that done and contacted the maintenance guy to let him know I would be headed that way to install the top. Got there and he carried the top in while I carried the tools an the door pulls. He wanted to set the top in place and, while I'm a surgeon at these things, this guy is a butcher. The top was a little snug so he whacked it with the palm of his had and the front edge of the top cracked... sh!t. Long story short I was able to fix it without having to replace it. So that job is done.

The rest of the day has been working on trying to get things back in place in the room. I reinstalled the baseboard and a couple other trim pieces that needed replacing. Of course, Rosie thought of a couple other things that needed fixing/redone, I don't disagree with her assessment, but just don't need more things on my plate, so I'm working on those.

Cold, cold here, high of 20 today and very moist feeling. Tomorrow they say a high of 13, you know one of those days to go out and sunbath.
