...it's hotter than the hubs of hell here kids.... plus humid plus 40 mph wind out of the south.... this is when my AC shop and office really pay off..... damn the expense make it cold in here.....

Found my good set of 56 keys that have been missing for a long time.... dug some old shorts out of the bottom of the drawer and Doc said I better wash those .... then miraculously the keys appeared at the bottom of the washer.... it's like a miracle or something.....

Porch steps almost done.... one more to go... will wait until evening to work on them.... want to get the Polara Bear out to play but no AC yet so that is a no go....

stay cool Guru's

Hey guys, Slept in until almost 8. Made me a nice cup of coffee and relaxed. Walked up to the post office and the temps were higher than I expected for that time of the day. Windier than I care for too. Feels like that blast furnace Marc was describing the other day. It was 100 yesterday, only 94 now but they say it'll still reach 100.

Church in a couple hours, then Molly is having us over for a bon voyage supper for Leo. Kind of jealous of his upcoming trip. Ah, to be young and having no real ties to worry about.

Hot as all get out here, 95 but feels like twice that. You walk outside and instantly start sweating. I scoped out a new headboard for the spare room, so we went to fetch that just a bit ago. It's an Ethan Allen bookcase king/queen headboard I think from 1962. Saw one on FB for 800, saw a full for 1300. I can't see that, I paid $30. Saw another the style I preferred but it was only a full and I need a queen, as we have some couples friends that stay sometimes when they're in town. That full size headboard was listed around $450 when I looked it up. I sent a pic to a friend as I know she was looking too, but if she don't go get it, for $20 I will and sell it. Boxing group meeting tonight for food, Arron is working a side job til then and I want to get in the pool. Water is 90 so that might be a no go.

Ethan Allen furniture was the hot ticket back in the 60's when we moved to Omaha in 66 my Mom and Dad went to the big Ethan Allen store and bought living room set and their bedroom set...... when my Mom passed the bedroom set when to one of the granddaughters..... it looked as good as it always did...they made real furniture back then....

They sure did. This lists as Maple and although this isn't mine, the one I bought is identical except not as orangy. It's on my back patio upside down now and does appear to be all solid.
It isn't a match to the bedroom suite that's in there but it will blend just fine, minus the colonial trim. They had another that I liked but it was a full and I do need at least a queen in that room. I also picked up a very old, new condition iron. My "new" one leaks and is crappy, I'll bet this old one will outlast anything. I seem to be missing my mom's 50s chrome waffle iron too so got one of those for $2, plus a yellow Sunbeam mixer about the same era. I need cords for them but that's usually not an issue.
