I got the fluids I needed from my chevy dealership to change my differential fluid. 2 bottle of additive and then the gear oil they sold me. Stupid me, I asked for "differential fluid for a '91 corvette" and now after driving it for 30 miles, I notice the bottle said it was GL-4.
How much damage did I do? Do you think I will be fine if I don't drive it anymore until I get it replaced with GL-5 oil? Thanks |

I am no gear expert but I am pretty sure you will be ok if you park it now until you replace it with what is recommended by GM. Those gears are pretty tough and running GL-4 for that short time period shouldn't have done any damage at all.
BTW, welcome to the guru! |
