is there a relay I don't know about - the module seems to be working okay and everything works while in park - but once your put it in drive - whoops - nothing works!

Mate no relay can cause that, this is a wiring issue id say. Pull the unit out of the dash and have a look at the connections, and also check all the connections around that area. Are you saying the actual climate control head unit just shuts off like as if youve turned off the key?
