CentralCoaster Clamped PS hose connections can't handle the pressure...

I have a power steering filter on the return line from the pump, before the cooler. I think there's too much restriction at high rpms which is causing the hose clamp feeding into to leak. I tried a new hose and clamp, no change.

Is there some other type of hose clamp that can handle this? The PS filter appears to have a nylon casing and has barbed ends.

I'm thinking I'll just ditch the filter entirely to get rid of the restriction. Hopefully then it doesn't start leaking at the barb on the cooler.

Last time I went to the track it sprayed all over the left fender, and I feared it was brake fluid.

Is it the filter causing the flow restriction? Is it necessary? What if you removed that?

Just a thought. No help on different connections

I remember this from a while back. What did you do with the leaking connection at the pump, flair the tubing?

The push on race hose "Twist Tite" is good to 250psi with the correct fittings.

I'd loose the filter too, I don't see them at the track.

I have had hose clamps loosen up at the track. If they have slotted heads (rather than phillips), they can be safety wired.

I'm gonna ditch the filter then do a test run.

I need to order another stash of clamps. Last time I got some from summit that have a sleeve on them to keep from digging into the hose.
