Smart cat. But you need to teach him the new web address.

I had found this site while searching out info on the net. Been going to CF but thought I would try this place for a while and see if the "advise" is tainted by vendor bias. My only problem (only?) is that I don't really know enough to tell the difference.
Besides, I've had quite a few good laughs from reading some of the posts here. I like laughs. Laughs are good and some of you guys really crack me up.

I remember when British started this place. He, Andy and I were on the phone talking about it. Discussing a publication related to the site once it took off. At that time it was C4Curu. British got it up and running. There were a handful of people, probably about a dozen. The site never had a lot of traffic until lately.

If I remember correctly, someone involved with the start up of this site used the term "sunshine pump" regarding the condition of CF and why they wanted to start this site. The genesis, as I remember, was to combat that "sunshine pump" and make a real technical resource devoid of vendor influence and fluff infomercial type articles.

By sunshine pump they meant articles that had a lot of words but no substance and were basically vendor advertising. Quite prophetic I'd say. Years ahead of themselves. Andy, who was that? They wrote an entire dissertation on the "sunshine pump". I betcha I even have it somewhere in the archives.

I have been a member since the beginning, long time went by before I really started posting.

It's good to see the site gaining traction.

I found my way over here very unusually...

I had been talking to Central Coaster about my upgrading my brakes on my C4 and he was giving me a lot of good help. And then one day he just disappeared off the forum. So I found a mod in a thread on CF (it just so happened to be Mr. Mojo) and asked him what the heck happened. He wouldn't tell me but gave me contact information for Central. When I contacted him he told me to give JeffVette a call, and he could sell me the parts I needed to upgrade the Vette, and I believe he is the one who informed me of what I was missing. At least I think that's how I found out about the site. At that time is was C4-guru.com

Anyway,... glad to be here in any event.

Dan

That's the question!

I know a number of you came over here during the various mass bannings from other forums. But there are newer members that have joined for their own reasons! So, being nosy, we are curious as to what brought you all here!

And as always - WELCOME!!

Andy

I've come over from being at CF and digital corvettes for years. I've never been banned from either of them, I just don't like the way people are talked to and dealt with so unfairly. This place has been very open and everyone has been great!

I found my way here by Bruthish's recommendation. I know him personally from a few visits I have made to the Louisville area and he invited me here. It's a great place for sure with good friendly people and I see it shares something I loved about CF, and that's a huge community of Corvette lovers and a general appreciation of all things automotive.

I learned of corvette guru from Durango Boy. I was at the CF forum and was a great forum when I found it. It has although become a huge forum with alot of members. In the year I was there I seen it go from a great forum with alot of knowledge and funny people to a forum with alot of supporting vendors and becoming more like a corporate business every day. The few days I have been here I'm glad that this place allows true opinions.

Hadn't seen DB post in a while so I e-mailed him to find out why. So I told him to stay where you're at and I'll come to where you are.
Getting more used to the site. I'm slow.

And I also forgot I'd posted in here already. http://www.corvette-guru.com/uploads/icon_salut.gif
