I got what might be a tough one for you.

I'm looking for a pic.

Of a C4

With gloss black sawblades with a chrome lip.

Polo green preferred, but I'm being picky enough on this one lol.

Photoshops welcome as long as they are decent enough for me to get an idea if I want to take my time/money to pull this off haha.

I know there are some out there. I've seen a few pics of sawblades that were painted or powdercoated black.

Alright, looks pretty good.

opinions from others?

I can get a set of machine sawblades for free, mine the clear is starting to go on them.

So on this 2nd set I'm debating stripping them and using them like that, or stripping then paint or powder them black (minus the lip) since I like the look of the GS wheels alot.

I am not a fan of powder coating wheels... the heat factor is a bit scary to me.

Why not just get a can of Duplicolor Car Art or the black bra for $5 ? Tape a wheel and shoot it, 10 minutes. If you don't like it, wash it off with soap & water.

I've been wanting to do this on my hood, stripes, but haven't got around to it.

I did a quick rattle-can job. Good enough for track wheels.

I was thinking about doing this myself until I get new wheels. Here is one of a few I have saved over time.

Hope this helps, Dave.

My '94 sawblades were peelin', and I put 'em in the closet when I bought fake GS rims. I got one out last month, and put paint stripper on it, and took off the clear coat perfect.

I had considered painting them black before, but never got around to it. I WILL do it now, since they strip cleanly....

Be sure to use Prepsol and scrub them good or you will get a lot of 'ugly' from the stripper residue imbedded in the metal. A coat of zinc chromate primer will help your finish coat get good, lasting adhesion.

I just did my little Jimmy wheels. Brush job. Thinned the paint ALOT, so it would 'lay', and not show brush strokes. It worked great. Took less than 10 minutes to paint it, dried overnight both times.

On the contour edges, it laid real thin, and took a second coat.

Can't upload pics. ???

Your little Jimmy has wheels? That's a great idea. If I did that, my little Jimmy wouldn't drag on the floor everytime I walked.
