I am working with a gentleman with a '64 C2 who wants to install a Hydrobooster. I'm currently designing and will make the custom mounting plate that will allow a Hydrobooster to be installed using the two stock studs, the two bolts above it, and keep the body hole in the stock location. It'll also keep the booster in position to use the lower of the two holes so the brakes won't be too touchy.

I'd like to know if all C2s had the same firewall pattern, if there was a difference in that pattern for manual or power brake options, and if anyone has any pics of other years without a booster or master that would be awesome.

Thanks.

They're the same. There's no way that would have had 2 different mounting patterns.

Looking in the factory assembly manual (67), the pedal mount is bolted to the firewall with the 2 upper studs having just nuts and the 2 lower studs used to mount the M/C on std. brakes. When a power unit is used, all 4 studs hold the power unit. The M/C is in the same (lower) position.

The 63 shop manual says: Remove the 2 nuts from the inside of the firewall. Then remove the two bolts from the top engine side of the firewall and remove the power unit ( which doesn't make a shitload of sense since the exploded view of the Moraine power unit shows 4 studs not 2 studs and 2 bolts).

There aren't any good pics in the manuals or even Dobbins book.

I don't think you're going to have any problem doing it as you described.

Well I have a great pic of his firewall and I have already designed the plate for his installation. I was just wondering about the other years and between the two options because I get so many requests for Hydroboosters set up for a C2. I know this one will work great for him and it'll bolt right in when he gets it, but I wanted to make sure all C2s were the same or that I had info on other years before I accepted any other projects for other C2s.

Thanks.

I just walked down into the shop and lookes at my stripped down 67. I'd really dought if GM changes the dimension between that 2 M/C mounting bolts between 1963 and 1967 but the M/C's are different.

If you want a dim. center to center on the bolts for a 67, let me know.

I would love the dimensions and if you can swing it, and pic of the firewall mounting location for the booster/master.

Thanks so much, and I hate you for having a C2 in the garage...I'd love one to tinker with...maybe a Split Window since they are the least popular one it seems.

Oh, I can make that worse, I paid $3,000 for it and drove it as my only car for 5 years.

Anyway, after crawling over the racing karts and standing up in the engine bay.

The mounting bolts horizontal C/L to C/L is 3 3/8ths. Upper and lower sets are the same dim. The vertical measurement is 2 inches.
Note that the upper studs are 1/2 shorter that the M/C mounting studs (for non-power brakes).

Sorry, no pics, my POS ancient computer won't talk with my camera.

Thanks, those match the ones I have for his '64 perfectly. He had manual brakes so his uppers are simply bolts and not studs, which works to his advantage when he installs the Hydrobooster.
