I just wanted to thank you guys for all of the help over the last 7 years, both here and over on CF. Frustation finally got the best of me and I traded in my '93 for a Toyota FJ Cruiser 4x4 today. I know, I know, I'll miss it in a couple of weeks, but it just wasn't practical anymore. I'll still be checking in because you guys are great. Until we meet again, God bless all of you. Marcus (Lichen).

Those FJs are pretty sweet.

I hope it serves you well! I think one of those would be about perfect for my video business. Post up some pix, eh?

I understand your situation completely. I wandered away from performance vehicles for almost 18 years. Then the bug bit again. I think it goes into dormancy and then one day far, far into the future ........................ Enjoy your newfound passion. See ya on the message boards.

Well, sorry to hear that and congrats at the same time It was probably tough but sometimes it's the right decision. Maybe later down the road we'll see you cruising in a c6

Don't be a stranger, though, always welcome!

These things happen.

I had a car that had just become such a pain in the ass, that it just wasn't worth it anymore... in fact, this has happened a couple of times in the past.

The only upside, neither were Vettes... so when they went, it was a good thing.

More than likely, in a year or two, a nice, clean, cared for C5 will land in your drive way.

It is very rare that a long time Corvette (or sports car owner of any kind), strays from the genre for any extended period of time.

It's just part of you.

For the moment, enjoy the peace of mind... you will forget the bad and long for the good. It's only a matter of time.

Either that or you'll be one of those 65 yr old farts at the gas pump sayin' "back in '09 I used to have one just like that, 500 horsepower and 15" tires in back!"

I don't know about you, but I'm just never happy with my car. It's a curse my dad left me with!
Actually, it's not a bad thing, it keeps my interest. Every year I consider trading, but as my car gets nicer, that trading or selling option gets harder to consider.
One day when the timing is right, I'll probably do what Andy suggests, find a good, low mile, cared for C5.
Our pain with these Vettes makes us a little more sophisticated as buyers, as long as we don't get the fever.

Good luck.

I say that already...lol. I cant really complain. I had my fair share of good sports cars...well camaros count right? There are a few cars I still want to own or drive...the viper being one, a ZR1 being another, a Z06 I would like to own, maybe drive a Ferrari or two oh heck, who am I kidding, my list goes on and on.

Can't really say I'll miss you. Does "Buy American" even have meaning anymore? Mexico and Canada are American too.
