It might seem trivial in the grand scheme of things but I think it would be pretty nifty. Now if you want trivial, how about a Corvette-Guru FaceBook page?

I do 90% of my posting from an iPhone. I think the site works pretty well as it is, but a mobile version would be pretty slick.

If not that, it would at least be cool to have a nifty CG app button for our desktops. Like the cool little square buttons you get when you download an application.

We might have to buy bmwgsa an iPhone first...

It can't hurt that Andy has one, though!

I post here sometimes from my crackberry, it's a little daunting with the menu taking up about 7 pages before you get to the threads.

Sarah and I are getting iPhones when her Sprint contract is up. I wanted something with touch screen and WiFi and I love the endless aps to choose from.

I'll have to start calling my '77 an iVette, which I park in my iGarage, which is attached to my iHouse...(You get the picture. LOL)

I have an iPhone... and as a phone, it's pretty damned good.

An app? I would rather not.

You have to appreaciate that most apps are designed to consume existing data. I hate to think about the amount of code it would require to consume this site. gee... lots.

This is a full featured site. the best I can suggest is perhaps putting a search tool on an app or a lookup of the dictionary. Now that would be cool.

You're only delaying the inevitable, Andy. You'll see.

my wife, daughter and I all have iPhones. And we have a Touch as well. They have all but replaced our desktops, laptops and TV.

I wouldnt want to edit a long format documentary on this thing, but I can do pretty much everything else.

The iPhone 3G that I paid $299 for about eight months ago can now be had for $99. World domination, coming right up!

Every site will need a mobile version soon enough.

I posted about this a whole year ago. Does that mean I'm ahead of the curve?

I guess... but it doesn't change the fact that porting this site down to an app is just impossible.

Perhaps app is not the right term then. Because Wal-Mart has a mobile site. As does eBay. Surely they have quite a bit of info on them.

But I don't know the first thing about the work involved in creating a mobile version of a website. I'm sure it would be quite an undertaking.

Kevin, I believe you were ahead of the curve. And I bet questions like yours and tobijohn's will come up more regularly real soon.

This site works really well on my iPhone already, but the size of the buttons can boarder on microscopic at times. Fortunately the touch screen makes resizing easy, if not fun. So I don't think we're going to lose members, but it is cool to be on the bleeding edge sometimes.

As for the security issues, I've never experienced any of them. Nor has anyone I know with an iPhone. And all of those issues have been dealt with. Perhaps there are others, but is a Blackberry running Windows immune from security issues? I've never used one, so I don't know anything about how well they function. I just know that Windows and I don't get along.
