Yes, I know we've discussed it already.

The CF classifieds are well read and entertaining. Ours are not.

I think they should be regular threads like any other post. Make them more conversational.

Go ahead. Shoot me down. I just had to vent.

I rarely go to CF anymore, but when I do, classifieds is where I go, almost exclusively.

There isn't squat for sale, so there's only so much you can polish a turd.

I think most of it though is visibility. They don't integrate with the rest of the forum well.

I like the general format otherwise, but it could be refined up. Compare the classifieds at DC vs CF for example.

Since the classified is a seperate module from the rest (welcome to modular design), the only other thing we could do is scrap the module and create a forum for sale items.

d@mn took me a while to find it!

Yeah, why not just make it a separate section on the forum?

I wonder how many members we could gain, or conversley, how many we've lost due to the fact that the classified section is so separate?

I mean, anyone on CF who has something for sale could benefit from listing it here also. But if I came to this site primarily to list a set of wheels for sale, I might not bother to join based on the layout of the classifieds as they are now.

It COULD be a way to gain members. Especially since we are less likely to bash prices on this site. Knowhatimean?

I know creating the classifieds as a regular forum has been shut down before, so I'm not going to die on this hill, but I thought it might be worth it to bring up the subject again.

Sorry Andy!

Just went over to CF.

The first 50 listings in C4 Parts for sale have seen activity today. Maybe nobody is selling anything, but they sure are talking about it.

And that doesn't include any other generation OR cars for sale.

I think Andy is probably going to divert his flight back to Cali. through Colorado so he can punch me square in the nose for bringing this up again.

I know Andy has stated he has grand plans for the F/S section, but I am accustomed to the forum posting setup and prefer that, personally. I think it would be a boost if we added that subsection.

Seconded.

No need for separate generations yet. Or parts vs. cars. It could even be a test forum. No need to delete the current classified section until the new would be proven good or bad.

Maybe we could move all the members with an email address ending in .ru over there too.

Where is a mail order bride gonna come up with $550 a month rent. Besides, I doubt she'd wanna share a bathroom with you and your other roommate.
