I am trying to help a friend with a 95 stock vette. He has an intermittent no start problem. I checked codes today and there is only one history code (H72) not related to the engine. today it started everytime and ran smooth. The other day I was listening as he held his phone to the car, it was turning over good, but would not start. He was getting a gas smell, but no start. This is an all stock LT1 with 77,000 miles.

Can this be caused by injector leak down?

Any other suggestions welcome.

Try flooring it. That will send a flood clear signal from the computer and shut off the injectors. If it fires, bet that at least one of the injectors is crap.

Andy, I had him hold the 'pedal to the metal' the other day and it made no difference. I was thinking exactly what you just said. I do think he didn't keep it cranking long enough though.

Was he getting spark? Was the engine hot or cold?

Engine was cold. No idea about spark as I was listening via phone when it would not start.

Hard to say then without more diagnostics. I'd check there if you get a chance.
