hi andy, how are things??? been quite a while for me to be here. since then, i found me a great lady, she has a 1980 vette. black, like mine. i still have the 87. hoping to be able to do some work on it in the next year. this place looks great, don't mind me while i nose around... :tongue:

Congrats on the lady-friend! That's great news! Glad you still have the 87! Now... just don't vanish like that again. I assume you heard we were all shit-canned from CF? Yea, me, CC, Streetknight and Jeffvette, all on the same day! That was 20 Dec 2007. Bastet44 and I bought c4guru in Oct 2007. CG has been growing ever since! |

Oh, nothing secret.
CF was bought by Internet Brands back in 2006. Early in the year (I think officially it was Feb 2006). We the regular folk didn't learn about it until later in 2006. Well, over the next 18 months or so, the admin and many of the mods became ever more itchy of trigger finger. They started to ban anyone who didn't follow the party line. All of us were banned for our own versions of civil disobedience. I do understand their rules... I just don't agree with them... and I didn't agree with the way they acted on said rules. I have, somewhere, some of the most disjointed emails I have ever read from the admin there. Most odd. Once they got the keys to that place, it went bad fast. That's why we are the way we are: 1. You are allowed to cross post from other sites. 2. You are allowed to post from vendors that do not sponsor here. 3. You are allowed to complain about sponsoring vendors, but do it objectively, and with good reason. 4. You are allowed to cross post from eBay. The thing is, all of those actions were forbidden on CF. Still are, AFAIK. For me, the Internet is about information exchange. Not the creation of islands of information. For example, if someone was to cross post a tech thread from here to CF, the thread would get locked/towed and the poster could possibly be banned for a week or more. Especially if that poster has a "reputation." Here, we want information. From where matters not. |

This is also proven in looking for acceptable pics for HCF (Hot Chick Friday). I have to look at hundreds of disgusting graphic pictures to find 3 or 4 suitable for HCF. Believe me, It can be a chore .....
