i have been looking for some time for a decent pair of rear speaker covers for my 84, and have been unsuccessful, i have looked at all the corvette places, and the only one i can get would be the left rear cover... now will 91, and up be a direct bolt in, or what can i do to freshen up my old ones? or is there any other GM vehicle like camaro, or firebird that used the same rear covers?

No mate, they might fit, but they are different. 84-87 are the same, 88 and up are different

you can freshen them. Remove the old fabric, and then clean up the plastic.

Using contact cement, you can reapply some new speaker grill material.

Have you called vette2vette? www.vette2vette.com.

Metal polish will get it off as long as its not a really soft adhesive

here is what I did for a customer of mine in his '85...

Resized Image

I just recovered the grilles, made them removable with some snap on clips, and they became rear compartments for him since I put in no rear speakers, only front doors and dash speakers... :thumbright:

nice install! I love the idea of repurposing the rear enclosures like that.
