Ok guys, please no flaming.
Here is the thing, I want to get a 2010 Camaro because its super nice and I love the features and it can seat 4. So there is the big issue, seat 4. Now, I have done some research and found that I can buy a used 05-08 C6 for less then what I plan on spending on the camaro. I already talked to my wife and she is ok with it but perfers the camaro for the seating issue. I know that the corvette is much more bang for the buck to be sure but to have one again would be peachy. I could not believe that I could pick one up so cheap until I seached CF (its still good for something). Found me a 08 in the inferno orange, manual with almost all the goodies for 31K. Thats 7K cheaper than the camaro for a 08 C6! Tell me I dont have a tough choice to make in about 9 months! Now be advised that we plan on another kid (to make 5 kids total). We are good for finances as of now and it appears that we will still be good when I go to make this purchase. So I know this is the wrong place to ask but what would you do? I still have alot of time to think about this and even the camaro is dependant on a few things yet so as time goes by I am going to be toying with this idea. But I still would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks guys and gals!

IMO there's nothing to like about the Camaro except the looks. It's heavy and softly sprung, and the rear ends break with abuse. I know some of the guys that did testing on them.

They're HOT, though!

Go down and sit in the back seat of a new Camaro. Let me know how it goes.

The front end and the rear end look like crap.

The rest of it is noting but weight.

Nothing to decide here.

I understand how you guys feel but kids are going to be sitting in the back, not adults. Also I like how the camaro looks. I know its not everyones cup of tea but its mine. Interesting about the back being weak. I did not know that, something to concider. Thanks!

How bad do you want to drive with your kids? I wouldn't mind having both, but if you need a back seat, well......

Seriously, take the kids/child saftey seat and go down and put them in the back. Saying the Camaro is a 4 seater, is the same as saying a 911 is a 4 seater.

In the last couple of weeks I have had first hand look @ performance and capabilities of the Camaro. Back seat room is great if you are the driver and under 5'6". If your 6' zero room in back seat. Mustang has more. V-6 seems to have plenty of power and has a nice torque curve. Quality and fit is impressive.

Never try to drag race it!! Trust me a 55 Chevy could beat it!!

Buy the Vette!!

You will soon have a family of 5 -- That won't all fit in the Camaro with any measure of comfort anyway.

I can tell you this...

My Vette sees about 2,000 miles of use a year because I almost always have kids with me. I love the car, but it is nearly useless to me. I always wanted a Vette. I got one... Now what?

Probably get a Mustang in a couple years and go back to Vettes when my older son starts to drive himself around in five years. But that's how I feel this week.

Wait a year or so and get a used SS for less. Unless you rarely transport the troops. Then the Vette, hands down!

This is a no brainier! The C6 will hold its value more then that Camaro. As soon as you drive that new Camaro off the lot you lost more then the difference between it and the one or two year old Corvette. The new Camaro, as nice as it is, is the new thing, the flavor of the month. Sooner or later everyone and there cousin will have one and you'll just be one of them, not unlike the new Mustangs. Those damn things are everywhere. How often do you see a Corvette? Not as much as you see a new Mustang. That will be the Camaro in a few years. Not everyone has a Corvette and they will turn more heads in the long run.

The price of C6s has come down so much. A gal here has an 06 with 8k on it for 26,000!!! If you still love the camaro in 9 months, see if you can find a used one or wait a little longer. You've got time to think about it still.

If your worried about seating, get a minivan. Sounds like you want something fun, and you won't be driving the same way with family in the car. I do crazier things when I am by myself.

Well said. Buy the C6, use the difference to get a family type car. We use my wife's 07 Malibu for family stuff, and when she's at work I have a pickup I can use to haul the youngin's. I drive my vette everywhere, about 200 miles a week average. That's my 2 cents.

Easy. Buy the used C6, and spend that other $6K on a nice 4-door sedan or extended cab pickup. $6K goes pretty damn far these days on used cars.

That new Chevy Campromisaro is just that, a wannabe sports car, a wannabe family car, that accomplishes neither.

It's possible that GM has addressed this issue, so don't base your decision too heavily on that. I only know that during traction control and ESP development the cars were always broken and had a significant amount of axle hop.

Get a mini van or a Tahoe for the family and a vette for you and your wife to take small trips to get away from the kids for a bit. Works for me! Cameros are trying to be Corvettes but can't ever quite make it.

Remember, too, much of the new Camaro price is ADM. Once the fans have bought there's, the price will drop anyway.

That ADM will not be reflected in used Camaro prices a year from now.

So that $48k SS on my local dealers lot is a crock... before they dicked with the price, it was $42k... think about it... rust proofing, dealer installed addons and ADM..

The value will drop faster than stocks did a year ago.
