... Jeff is a 2017 Impala, being leased because the miles will be low (he'll only be used for A] carting the parents around and B] extreme foul weather). He is the replacement for Frankie, our 2014 Impala (also leased). For those that care, this is what Chevrolet calls the 2LTZ. 2 means it has the 305 bhp LFX 3.6 liter V6 and LTZ is the highest trim level (now described as Premier in marketing materials). The exterior color is Black and the interior is Jet Black, with the usual "leather-appointed" seat trim. We added the Enhanced Convenience Package, which includes ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, power tilt and telescoping steering column, memory for driver seat, outside mirror and steering column settings, floor mats and trunk mat, auto-dimming inside rear view mirror and outside heated power-adjustable mirrors with turn signal indicators, ground illumination, and driver-side auto-dimming feature. All Premiers included an LTE wireless hot spot (which I'm not sure we'll activate), Android Auto, and Apple Car Play. Jeff looks a little meaner than Frankie because he has the Midnight Edition Appearance Package, chosen because Ivelis wanted darker wheels. In addition to those wheels, the package adds black bowtie emblems front and rear, a blacked-out grill, a small rear spoiler, and snotty pedal covers. Getting a black Impala of some sort is something Ivelis has always wanted: she's a big fan of the 1958, the 1959-1960, the 1961-1964, 1965-1970, and (of course) the 1994-1996. In a marker of how far cars have come in twenty years, this front-wheel drive Impala with no sporting pretentions whatsoever would clean the clock of one of those beloved 1990s SS's in almost every measurable way: BHP 260 bhp @5,000 RPM (1996) 305 bhp @ 6,800 RPM (2017) Torque 330 ft-lbs (1996) 264 ft-lbs (2017) Curb weight 4,036 pounds (1996) 3,867 pounds (2017) Tires 255/50-17 (1996) 245/45-19 (2017) 0-60 6.9 seconds (1996) 6.1 seconds (2017) 1/4 mile 15.2 seconds (1996) 14.6 seconds (2017) Theoretical top speed 142 mph (1996) 156 mph (2017) |

Sharp-lookin' sedan, John! Yessir, hard to fathom that a lot of cars we thought were hot back in the day would get smoked by many of today's grocery-getters.

John - Great looking car. I really like the new Impala. Drives like a dream!!!!
Matt - I have observed Honda sales to be hit/miss. Some shops are really high pressure, others are more 'meh'. A lot depends on how close the next honda dealer is... if it's close, they are trying to beat that dealer... strange... As for pressure, I have found the old school dealers, any brand, who play the old tricks, to be the pain. When they make you wait for an appraisal, or hold your keys until you sign... those are the crooked shops. Hate dealing with those people. |

Nice ride John..... I like the Impala's they look great......nice design....I was always hoping for an Impala SS with twin turbos and all wheel drive......The Impalas always need an SS version......when they bring that out I will head on down and see what we can get done over a nice cup of coffee sitting around the table at the local dealership.....not very high pressure.....unless we start fighting over the donuts.......
