No rain last night, but still very cool. Looking at upper 70s again today. So they say, we'll see.

As stated yesterday evening, I did get the backsplash installed. It was a long day, but that is done. Today, I will install the microwave and maybe start on the crown molding. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope that all of you are having a great August, we're already a fourth through it. Glad I'm not a school teacher, those folks are prepping for the little darlings.

Stay cool folks.

Howdy! Delightful day here, gonna be 82 and sunny, low humidity, 5mph wind - doesn't get much better. I'll be looking to make an early escape to the golf course.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

STILL UNSEASONABLY PLEASANT IN THE NATIONS, THE CHEROKEES KNOW IT'S TOO GOOD TO LAST.

NOTHING ON THE AGENDA, RUN A FEW ERRANDS, PUTZ ABOUT THE YARD AND BARN.

This is really something to think about:

A. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000
B. Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year is 120,000
C. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171 (US Dept of Health & Human
Services).

Then think about this:

A. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
B. The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is
1,500.
C. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than
gun owners.

FACT:
NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand. As a public health measure I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for
fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention.

In hiring news. Two guys walked in the nursery Friday looking for work. Sue worked them Friday. Told them she'd give them a try. Monday the showed up. Sue gave them weeding work to do at the second nursery. Sue got a call from her #1 guy. The guys worked about 2 hours, took off their work shirts (we provide) got in their van and left. This is hard hot work. It's hard to find people that want to work. I think I told you before, illegal immigrant day laborers want at least $80 and sometimes $100+ a day to work. Forget the American born kids. All of them want to be the boss before they even know what they're doing. Remember in the olden days when people started by sweeping floors and worked their way to the top? No more. American born kids today are spoiled. (Right, Matt? )

Tommy, sorry to hear about your hiring woes. Hard to find someone willing to start at the bottom and work their way up. I teach my kids to be more traditional.

Wanted to drive the vette to work today, but remembered I had an appointment with the wife's car. Had the front windows tinted today. Looks good. Only took me three years to convince her.

Hope everyone had a great day!
